AS far as the K8N-pro goes, what is the best BIOS?? I have F11, but 3dmark and other things lock up at 2.4ghz (3400+ stock that is). Its not the temps, they never go above 45. And it can take programs like Super Pi fine at 2.45 even. Ive gotten the locks to work, and I use 1.7 VCORE.

You're going to want the F12c BIOS to force 1t on the mem controller. Can't say why it would be locking up at stock; could it be your video card or memory?

dude im starting to think its ur memory
ill bring my memory over to ur house on thursday night, cuz that with go to ~240mhz with 2.9v which i think is what the max vDimm is from bios.

yah 12c is da best

did u ever look in the CTRL+F1 menu?

also try raising the HTT voltage which is the one right above Vmem

I have tried 12C and by using 1T I can't boot at 245 1:1 anymore. Not sure why cause these 2x512 Mushkin L2's will do 267 1:1 2-2-2-11. Maybe I need to try 2x256 sticks and see what they do.

It's a picky memory controller, all right. If it plays decently with 2t, it a b#@! with 1t. Generally, a gig just isn't a great idea for an a64 if you plan to get too far. They hate double-sided modules. 2x256's work a lot nicer, but I still won't part with my gig for anything. Not even if it means running at only 210...

so ishan, lets test with either one of ur dimm's or mine, k

but both of ours are double sided, so hmmm

I heard F9 is good. I'm stuck with F1 for this K8NS Pro NF3 250. The down side of being the first on your block. The buss locks are very nice though. Can bench at any FSB without worrying about my RAID 0 Raptors biting the dust...lol.

What are you running LDT at? Should be set to 2X. Also, Fast writes ENABLED or DISABLED?

No, its stable as a rock on stock speeds. But at about 2.3 ghz it locks up. Ill try both F9 and F12c, and mess with the Memory controller.

I got into the advanced BIOS (still on F11) the LDT multiplier is at 3x. Should I try 2x and see if its stable? And can anyone give me a link to where I can get the F12 beta?
