I think I just killed my first stick of ram with esd. I took a stick out of my bro's comp. and put it in mine, and it didn't recognize it. So I took all the others out except that one, and still nothing.
I was on carpet, but I wasn't moving around and I always touch the case first, but I think it's a gonner.
That's the first thing I've ever fried with esd. Wierd.:rolleyes:

I was staying stationary on the floor. That's pretty much what I do every time. Gotta watch the carpet I guess.

Electrostatic Discharge. Computer components are suseptible to esd. Dragging your feet along carpet is enough to kill some computer parts.

I'd done stuff like that many times before though and never had a problem. It's a wierd phenomenon I guess. For me anyway.
