Both seem pretty good, but the faster connection is $13/mo more expensive, worth it?

And I want a new monitor, but I don't want to drop $1200 on a big hunking LCD......... how bou tone of those small (30") widescreen HDTV capable picture tube TV's??? I think Samsung makes some....even some of the cheaper companies too. What about resolution? Do they have the correct inputs? Would 1024x768 on a 25-30" screen look grainy?? ideas"??
maybe like this:

or this:

what exactly happens when you use a radeon s-video output into a tv? How does it look, what kind of resolution?

Get the faster connection, You will not regret it.

As for LCD, you can get a good 21" around for 600 from circuit city.
I wouldn't use HDTV as a computer screen because it might damage the tv's picture tube because HDTV is like a projection tv I think in my opionion(might be wrong)

i had the business class sbc yahoo dsl. it was 6000/384. i absolutely loved it but it was also 99 a month and you had to live within 7000 cable feet of the co.... luckily i lived a block away from mine...

my suggestion is spend the extra cash... you will definately enjoy the extra speed.

Definetely get the faster one. That is a good price for the low end but you will not be satisfied with only 50-190k download speeds (and thats a max that you probably will never see) after you see all your friends connections smoking yours ;)

How much do you want to spend on a monitor? I would buy a 42"

Panasonic TH-42PDW6UY Plasma Display (http://www.plasmatvbuyingguide.com/plasmatv/panasonic-th42pwd6uy-review.html) I can get them for $2800 delivered. 4000:1 contrast ratio.

They are a real nice unit. I have purchased 3 of them so far, and the picture is great. The wall mount is the way to go. If your interested I can put you in contact with my distributor.

Get the faster connection. The problem with todays online games is not the downstream, but the upstream and with the faster package offering 384kps upload you wont regret it.

The day companies start offering bigger uploads will be a good day indeed.

128up just plain sucks dude, id pay the $13 just for the higher upload speed, which still isnt enough btw.

Ouch i pay $43 for comcast same speed as you here in Delaware.

I loved it better when @ home had it. 6000down/1200 up 3 years ago.

when comcast was down to 128k it really sucked.

I've got one on the way after all the reviews. A bit cheaper here. A friend of mine bought one from the place. I took my laptop down there and hooked it up and everything looked great on it.

.$2571 shipped

Charlie. games and such are playable on the screens you chose, but forget reading anything with a TV. It's just not fine enough. Unless you make the font huge. even on HDTV's. my 55 inch HDTV died out. That's why im getting the plasma.

That is a good price. I get mine here in Las Vegas. I didn't like the idea of having to put my money up and then hope it arived ok. This way if it doesn't work, they can get me a new one or give me my $$$$ back. Worth the extra couple hundred, but like I said, that is a good price. Great unit. I was thinking of getting a 37" for the PC, but I wanted to get the 1024 x 768 version. Cost a good chunk more for the higher res.

I bought it last week it's supposed to get here Wednesday. I used my American Express card. I've had problems before with stuff i ordered. AMEX straightend it out a lot faster than Visa.

Im not worried about them. Usually anyplace that takes AMEX is decent. Most stores dont take AMEX because they are more on the customers side.

$2571 is almost the price of the generic Daewoo's and others. If anyone has ever read the reviews on the Panasonic, you will not choose any other.

I fired my laptop up over at a friends house @ 1024x768 which is it's native resolution instead of the usual 853 X 480 for others in the range.

My lappy wouldnt let me select 1600x1200, but according to all the reviews this Plama accepts that signal off a computer UXGA.

you can read computer TYPE off of it no problem. You would think its a dam LCD monitor. Before i hang it on the wall i'll probably put it on my computer desk for a while.

You can hack your modem. Most people that have done this to remove the Cap have usually ended up with the cops knocking on their door.

Cable modems do get hot. Put a fan on it and see if it speeds up!!!

SBC does have some good prices!! I'll give them that.

I only pay that much cause I don't have their stupid Comcast Cable TV which is like $70 a month for a decent package.

But either way it works out cheaper with their internet and my Dish Network satellite tv service makes it a few bucks cheaper.

I might switch to Bellsouth Fastaccess DSL which is $44.95 + taxes 3Mbps/384Kbps with static ip addres not sure if i want that feature but if I keep it i'll definately run a server on it.
