I have flashed my card to a XT modded yet again. When I ran 3dMark03, I got squggly lines in the Battle of Proxycon test as usual. However, the rest of the test went fine without any problems or artifacts. I've ran some games as well and they all ran fine without any problems or artifacts. So is it safe for me to run the XT BIOS eventhough there's the squiggly lines in Battle of Proxycon only? Here's 2 pics of the squiggly lines. The pic are not clear but I think you can still make out the squiggly lines.

ok the bios that you used is a normal pro bios with its device id (and 1 or 2 other id's) change to that of a xt. Since the 9800 pro's (most of them) have R350 cores and xt's have R360 cores they interpret drawing certain things differently. So now the drivers think that you R350 is actually and R360 core and hence you get visual errors. Most find the errors in tolls lair when she opens the door you see wire cages instead of shadows. Check the link in my sig.

I cant really see those images. Did you try overclocking your card to those speeds before you flashed it? It could also be heat, have you got ram sinks on your mem? and non stock cooling on your gpu?

Sorry, I've edited the photos making them smaller. Sorry about them being blurry. Kinda hard taking them with a camera. Wish the printscreen would work in 3DMark. But the main thing is the black squiggly lines can be seen :)
My card has been running 412/365 without any problems at all. I restored it back to default speed before flashing. I dont have any ram sinks though but I do have Artic Silencer for my gpu.

I forgot to mention that I am using a modded XT BIOS I got from this site (http://koti.mbnet.fi/elixir/Radeon/)

thats' not a good site. I wouldn't run it like that for long. Plus you can't even play a game like that.

I did changed back to my original bios. Didnt want to take the risk. Strange thing is that it fine on games, happens like that only on 3dMark03.

why bother with a "modded" BIOS? Just use a proper XT BIOS with mem thats the same as on your pro.

I have a 128MB card. All of the XT are running at 256MB. Besides I think I have tried it and the outcome is still the same.

then just bios mod your pro bios and use that there isnt that much of a gain by using the XT bios or a variant of it.
