I have a Windows XP PPOE Verizon DSL connection setup.
Everytime I boot up I have to click start ? connect to > verizon
and then click the connect button

Anyone know how to auto do this without me clicking the connect button?

when i had verizon and 1 computer that is how i did it, but when we added more comps, we bought a router and the router auto does it.
thing is when using the router, it only gives you 1 IP vs giving you differnt IP's if you use the hub

if you want it always on the internet get a router and configure the router to use PPoE, im not sure how would you make windows xp auto does that though

I had a netgear router but it always lagged me in gaming so I put a Dlink Switch instead.

well i found this solution hope it works
http://www.carricksolutions.com/windowsxp.php#2

if linke doesnt work here is a paste:
1) In Control Panel open "Network Connections"
2) Right click on your broadband connection icon and select "Properties"
3) Uncheck "Prompt for name and password..."
4) Click "OK"
5) Open your "C:/Documents and settings" folder
6) Open the "All Users" folder
7) Open the "Start Menu" folder
8) Open the "Programs" folder
9) Go to your Programs Folder -> Startup
9) Copy a short-cut of your Broadband Connection, from the Network Connections folder in to the "Startup" folder

If that does not work for you, try this:
Create a shortcut for your Broadband Connection, place it on your desktop
Go to Start Menu -> "Programs" -> "System Tools" -> "Scheduled Tasks"
Double click "Add Scheduled Task"
Click "Next"
Click "Browse" -> browse to the shortcut you had placed on your desktop -> Select it -> Click "Open"
Click "When my computer starts"
Click "Next"
Enter the Username and password for the administrator on your PC, if you do not use passwords to log in, leave it blank -> Click "Next"
Click "Finish"

I tried that but still I have to press the connect button to connect. Is there anyway to automatically connect without clicking the connect button.

Thx for the info though.

Err,
Sometimes my DSL Connection would randomly disconnect even though the connected network icon is there. I cannot reconnect till I reboot.
