I have been out of the watercooling scene for about a year now and need updated.

I am planning on building a new water cooling setup for my current rig.

Here are my specs:

Athlon XP-m 2500+
Abit nf7-s 2.0
mushy 2-2-2 special
radeon 9000np

I want to cool the cpu only. My budget is 200-250 us dollars.

What parts do you suggest? I want it to be quiet but very effective. What water block/pump/radiator do you suggest?

Also, what's a good place in the US to buy watercooling parts? I know newegg doesn't sell them.

Thanks.

my recommendation is (all stuff you can get ahold of easily):

silverprop cyclone evolution SE (http://bestpcmods.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=BPM&Product_Code=S462&Category_Code=CB) - $63.00

jr 120 radiator (http://www.dtekcustoms.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=103&HS=1) - 35.00

hydor l30 (http://www.dtekcustoms.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=30) - 50.00

then get some clearflex tubing, 1/2" id or tygon if you want to cough up the extra cash

enermax adjustable fan

and a reservoir is optional of course, that will be in your price range for sure

Wow, thanks.

How does the waterblock mount to the motherboard? Will it just screw on using the 4 holes that I am using currently for my slk-900u or is it going to clip on?

Yes, I am going to use a reservoir (a small one) do you have any reccomendations for that?

Thanks again.

Yes it will come with bolts you put in the mounting holes than you mount the block on them and springs+nuts+washers apply pressure.

ok, good.

Now in what order should the loop be? should the reservoir be at the bottom then the pump pumping water up to the cpu, then down to the radiator, then back down into the reservoir?

How is this waterblock? It looks like a pretty good price to me. Does it perform as well as the one you suggested?

Thanks.

probably not, but if youre going to go dtek i recommend the rbx, it outperforms the silverprop by a degree or two, i recommended the silverprop becuase the danger den is infamous for being hard to mount good

as far as reservoirs go i dont know but ive always been warned to steer clear of the bay res'
