Xtreme Folders

We are going to start a program of building dedicated Xtreme Folders from parts donated by members. These machines will then be hosted by selected members of Team Xtreme.

To get this program going I am donating an ASUS A7M266 and an ABIT KG7 for Xtreme1 and Xtreme2. Both boards are fully Vmodded by me. Hardass has generously agreed to donate a 1G Athlon and a 1.2G Athlon.

We need ram(128MB will do), HDD(1Gig up), NIC, display card(any will do), HSF, case and PSU.

If you are interested in hosting an Xtreme Folder, please post and let us know.

Great idea!

I am pretty much out of parts right now..they are all either folding in one of my machines or have already been donated to others for folding. If you need a host, I still have room for several more machines before I run out of ports. I just added another 8 port switch.

I have (1) 128MB stick of generic PC2100 & (1) 2.1GB Quantum HD I am willing to donate.

I may host (1) machine...I'm not sure if there is a big demand on hosting these, so if someone else wants to host, they certainly may, lol.

Ok well, I have (1) 1.6GB hdd, an extra floppy drive, several 13" monitors, several keyboards, a 235w psu, and several small pc133 sticks of ram. Also have quite a bit of cat5 cable w/ rj45 connectors.
I can host as many as the team wants, may have to add a hub to my router for internet.

I have a small case sitting around here somewhere, I,ll throw that in. Will be next week before I can pull those cpu,s have to wait for replacements to get here. Will send all when I know who is going to be the recipent.:toast:

Well, The first Xtreme rig is in the works (Going to be named "XF1"). Come on teammates, let's keep building the team! Clean out those closets and garages, route through the garbage cans, etc... We're going to take this team to the top!:D :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana:

Yea i have a homemade watercooler with the water pump, 230w psu and Savage pro8 vga could be in the box too :)

Ok guys, I'm still not too sure yet who's all sending parts. I know DDtung and Hardass are sending parts. I've just pm'd DD about the extra mobo he's got, and if things work out, I'm going to plant the xtra xp1600 I just got in in Xf1 and use the tbird Hardass is sending for another kt133 mobo I've got laying around. But nevertheless, now I'm in need of another cheap vid card to complete that rig. I might have a deal worked out with a local buddy, swapping him a celery500 and mobo for a vid card and some cash, but I'm not really sure yet whether his vid card will even work. It's like an old 4 or 8 mb card:( So if someone's got something decent, let me know.
And it looks like I'm going to have to hunt down a hub soon, so let me know if you've got an extra one of those too:)

Btw, Artist, thanx for the offers, the team really appreciates the extra efforts you've brought forth so far. :)
I just thought I'd express this out in the open, I told Artist through pm that with the members we have overseas from USA, that maybe we could start coordinating another donation farm on that side of the world;) So maybe we could have all the members over there post in another thread or even in this one about getting something like that together. We would need someone who has the room and capabilities of hosting a farm.
So far, I'm starting off the first one over here in the states, and I've still got plenty of room and bandwidth. :) So keep the efforts coming, we are really starting to make a difference!!! :banana:

I'm not sure, switches basically work the same way as hubs, right. If so, then yes. I've only worked w/ routers and hubs so far....

I've got almost a whole system, Athlon 700, asus k7v (i think) 128pc133 ram, nic, viper 2 vid card, and a burner. IF anyone wants to donate a case and HDD I can get it up and running in no time! I think I have a PSU but it came out of a bad machine so it might be hosed. I have another Athlon slot 600 proc, 64mb of RAM, and maybe a few other things. I know the system won't be all that fast but it's another folder!! :D

I have 3 slots open on my switch and plenty of free electricity ( I live in military barracks) so if you need another host let me know.

I only have a spare stock hsf, and maybe a 64mb stick of pc133 ram. I would just nned to steal the ram from the box I just gave my Mom. No mater though, she'll still have 256mb to run win98.

Hmm Hmm i thought i had some HD's laying around here (few gigs). But ehh where do i send 'em? i live in Europe (Netherlands) So it would be pretty much NOT cheap to send stuff your way :( .. maybe anybody has a plan of hosting one here in the netherlands ? :)
