Is it just me or is maneuvering the pipe bender around a window ac unit somewhat difficult?

I have a Rigid 456 Tri-Bender (http://www.ridgid.com/Tools/Lever-Benders/index.htm) and It is giving me some trouble. I am getting ready to just start bending by hand

Practice, practice, practice. BTW, Ridgid is high quality stuff. :D

You have to pull and rotate at the same time dont let the pipe slip in refrence to the bender.

I had a great deal of trouble with mine as well. I think that's why they call them pipe benders and not pipe straighteners. Once metal is bent it is stretched and therein lays the problem. When you try to force back in to another shape it has a tendency to want to kink.

Straightening is a whole nuther ball game.

yeah, I've noticed that. My eheim 1060 was just barely to big to fit in the slim cooler with the evap, so I got another cooler. It is the same length and height, but about 3 times wider, so it will make my bending job easier, but I will have to use a good bit more liquid. I have pretty much given up on the pipe bender being that the pipes seem pretty easy to bend by hand. Hopefully I will have the evap in the cooler tonight.

Btw, my evap was getting down to nearly -30c in the air, so is that the kind of temp I can expect to get when it is submerged?

Out in the air temps tell you absolutely nothing, other than the machine works.
