Hey Everybody,
Just Thought you might want to check this out.
I have installed a 10,000 Watt Kenwood sound system(There is Nothing but Speakers/Amps/Batteries Behind the Front seats!)

It's A stock GT except for Flowmasters , Fast Enough to get me in Trouble!
Not much sense in modifying the Engine since the Stereo System adds over 500lbs to the cars weight.

Bah, Sorry I'm a car enthusist. I luv cars, stereo's are nice, but like I told my friends, keep the big stereo's to Honda'a, or cars that are not ment to go fast ;)
BTW,
Good luck with the stereo, break some db records!

Kenwood...Meh...Each to their own...I haven't heard any kenwood that impressed me, but then I haven't heard some of their highest end stuff, so maybe it gets comparable to some other higher ends.

I've worked in the car stereo biz for a while and I'd be very interested to see the specs of your system......
What peaks my curiosity though is, if you have a 10,000 watt system from kenwood (we'll assume that its Excelon because its there high-end stuff) you must have 10 of there most powerful amps (which are rated at 1,000 watts at 1 ohm). If you had 10 of those amps, they would have to pull atleast 90 amps each if they were 90% efficient (never seen an amp yet that was), and combined would need alternators/batteries that produced 900 amps of current!?!?!? The biggest alternators made that I've seen on a car are only like 300 amps... Where do you keep the half dozen or so batteries you need to feed those amplifiers? Where do you recharge your batteries after each burp of base they produce?? You must be running atleast 10 of their best subs too... because I think they are dual 3 ohm speakers which would be like 1.33 ohms wired in parallel, but that couldn't be it because each amp would only provide around 900 watts per sub. Oh, yeah.... all of those numbers are rated 14.4 volts too.... which I've only seen a handfull of cars' charging systems ever hit..
You really need to post some specs for me... because I think you got SOLD!!! Maybe they told you the "ILS" power for your system (If Lightning Strikes) :)!! I used to hate when jerk salespmen would lie to customers to get them to buy crap. Not saying that yours is at all...
By the way, I like your Mustang. My buddy had a 5.0 in highschool that could ALMOST keep up with my '69 chevelle ( until we turned, then he'd smoke me!)

I am losing my hearing so I avoid the loud stereo's now...
I saw a cab once with a stereo that size it was called DB Cab it had the entire back full of 18 inch subs, the owner had to drive it around for about five hours to run the stereo for 10 min. I was in Mississippi in 1991 and there was this competition, I was security... TOO LOUD.. all these cars had to put their batteries on chargers overnight before the competition. I think they were talking about 145 db ;...

I just use it Full Power For DB DRAG RACING Events(By Remote Control OUTSIDE The Car!).
Any other time I drive It, I keep it down to Tolerable Levels.:D

I was into that 5 years ago, I had 7k in my car and when to comps every weekend. You can spend to much money and time. I made money some how when I sold everything off. I guess I got lucky as hell when I got out. Have you gone to optical cables yet? I had alpine everything for head unit and dvd, and sound procesors, but my 30band eq was Orion, and the amps I went with orion. I used ads speakers, man do they cost money.
