the famous mora rad is back on com-tra.de! 70€ but its pretty much the best you can get, its 40cm long so it can take 3 120mm fans easily! 2.3 kilos of 100% pure copper! i bet it can easily cool a swidtech mcw5000-T with 227W tec and an mcw50-t and still keep a low water temp :D

wont you need a helluva a pump for that thing? looks like a lot of length and turns for water to travel through...

if they fit ...get it :D

yeah long tube means higher restriction, but you dont really need a super pump.... a 1000L/h pump should be enough.

would a Laing DDC12v do the job with that MORA 2? I would really like a passive cooled rig

That looks like a converted AC condenser. I'd love to get one for a chiller, but I wouldn't put it in a watercooling setup. The restriction is absolutely going to kill its performance with water.

that almost looks like a converted lytron. hmmm...*digs around office*

pics of a dual 120 lytron that has an SS housing with a copper core:

another pic of the same rad from a different angle:

yep - those are ac driven 120s on top. :)

bet a monstercore would take it :D...round tubes generally don't carry heat to fins that well.

anyway, 70€...what does that translate to in USD?? I might start converting lytrons... ;)

70€ is a good amount over 100 bucks.

That rad is nothing special IMO. its incredibly high restriction compared to a heatercore, bix3, bip3, or 120.3. and as weapon pointed out it doesnt use flat tubes wich is another no no.

It is essentialy a HX for phase change.

that thing is huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge

70€ = $87

But what do you expect it's performance is compared to your heatercores?

I think it'll be way too restrictive to perform interestingly and that a PA160 of that size would easily outperform it.

MaxxxRacer

its performance will be lower than a heatercore due to the poor tube design and back and forth design. , like i said before a 302, BIP3, or BIX3 would perform better based on pure design. by how much i have no idea.

the design is downer for that

I bet that lytron Weapon is holding performs pretty well.

I bet that lytron Weapon is holding performs pretty well.

it does pretty well in a system with 3/8" tubing -- thanks to the copper usage and the amount of air the ac 120mm fans can force through it. The main problems you run into with the lytrons, thermatrons, or others with the old round tube + lots of 180s design is the kick down in the size of the tubing. All of the ones that are semi-reasonable in size use 3/8" or smaller copper tubing due to size restrictions -- of course, all the 180 degree turns and the limited contact area between the round water tubes and the fins do not help it much. As for the flow restriction from the size of the tubing, that can be fixed by patching in another inlet and outlet to make it a dual channel rad of sorts.

I originally bought that one for my ongoing phase change project. The original condenser I used was bigger than I wanted and the lytron is brazed all over the place so it should stand up to reasonable phase change pressures.
pic of the unit that will be bolted into sooner or later:

rod, is there any way you can do some pressure drop tests with that rad u have? i want to see how it compares to the radiators i have in my house.
