I got a new SL6GT 2.5Ghz C stepping.
Maylay 8/26/02
Booting at 155FSB @ 1.60v
Taking it home to break it in.
I dunno much about Intels but if that's a 100MHz FSB CPU, dayum! :)

This should indeed be a 100MHz part... :) With the 25 multiplier. :D
Nice part you've got there, Fugger... Is there any headroom left, or can your OC be only marginally improved?

Loading it up now, this is at default vcore.

I am going to switch back over to RDRAM, 4x will get me a lot more memory bandwidth that I am missing with the lower FSB on DDR.

or get a mobo with Sis chipset and more memory multi to pass 200mhz with low fsb ? ;)

I don't think you'll find many ppl on this forum who are a fan of anything with the SIS chipset M8.:rolleyes:
Im just testing the GA 8SG667 and at 133fsb ddr400 this board is way faster than the 845E..but as of yet the bios has no voltage tweaks...it is being implemented though in the next bios so only a short wait away.Also this board has a working pci lock and a hiddeous amount of memory ratios.
Once the bios includes the volt tweaks im swapping out mt IT7 and putting this board in the Prometeia as I feel the added memory speed would be worth it. It also clocks well over 160fsb so there shouldn't be a problem with low multi cpu's.

Have you seen any benchmarks from the GA 8SG667... I had heard somewhere the memory benchmarks weren't all that stellar. Or perhaps it was one of the other ga boards. Maby it was Toms Hardware for a ddr400 roundup or something.

The prob with the GB sis648 based board is that when you set the mmem to run at 400mhz (async) the mem timings are 2.5-4-4..which gives :banana::banana::banana::banana:ty results.

I can run 2,2,2 or 2,3,3 or 3,2,2 or 3,3,3 or what ever I want.At ddr400 this board is faster than the IT7..and I should know as I have both.Unbuffered this board is over 100MB/s faster and as you up the fsb it rearly does show what it can produce.
Where does it say you can only run :banana::banana::banana::banana:ty timings?

As i know there is know option to change the mem timimngs in the current BIOS, when it set to work at DDR400 the timings are set to 2.5-4-4.
the F3 bios has FULL ram timing options.These setting's are hidden in advanced chipset but ctrl+F! unlocks them
Boot to bios..hit cctr+ F1 and you will see them

Hey Bigtoe,
Can you give us some memory benchies with that fancy new mobo of yours...??
Its only at 138fsb as the chip isn't the best but I have run some unbuffered memory benches.1755/1781 unbuffered membench at ddr416 cas2,3,3 7 enhance off.My IT7 and BD7II get no where near this at the same memory clock.

These p4's with ddr and low fsb really suck. The trick is to get a great chip that will let you run up the fsb and use the enhance memory option in the bios.
I have a prometeia and a 2.26b and an IT7 that will do over 190fsb and ram that will do ddr500 too...sometimes I just like to play with something a little diferent!!

Just like your rig Bigtoe, high fsb, great ram and running cold as hell.;)
On a side note, what would you recommend for a CPU, to go in my Prometeia with my shiny new it7 and a stick of Samsung?
I want the bandwidth, I was considering the 2.5 C1,but afraid I may not get a high enough fsb to give good bandwidth.
what do you think?
2.66b at the mo..or wait to see if the 2.5a will hit 166fsb+ when chilled.

Argh, I might have to sell my 2.26B and get a new p4... these things are oc'ing really nice... stock voltage, geeze. Crank it up.
