Hi I was about to order a R9700 for my AMD rig.

Now today I have/had the chance to test a AT7max2 with/6 divider.
But the damm 6 divider didn't work (heck the whole board sucked) So no way I can Run 200fsb and a Radeon at stock speed :(

Got a new bios a few minutes ago and that should fix the problem (thanks Paul ;) ) But the /6 divider is completly gone, and will never be back or even work (hardware problem thx to VIA :finger: )

Is there anyone (Mr Icee or so) who can verify that R9700's don't work past 75mhz AGP on AMD rigs?

Don't want to fork over $375 that limits my fsb to 185 after buying memory that does (+)200mhz Max timings 1T command

Damm you via :finger: you can realy destroy a mans amd+R9700 dreams

This could be the straw to make me turn to the "Dark Side" ;) and it's not even AMD's fault

Entuscan:)

I have been running my 9700 with FSB at 200 and 201 without a problem, as has my friend MBrock. You must disable fast writes and not enable "Enhance AGP Performance"...thats how I got mine functioning properly after a few days heartache:)

Thanks

What mobo are you using? Still the "trusty" KX7 or one of those new fancy ones?
That's with a 5 divider isn't it? My Memory can do 202mhz cas 2 2-5-2 4way 1T fast decode on my KR7A. It would be a shame to run that at 185 or so :(

But my trusty KR7A died on me so I desperatly need a new mobo

For the record, my pc wont even POST if the AGP is higher 74. The max lock I can use on my rig is 37/74 and any higher, the PC wont even post for me....and I have to go thru a lot of :banana::banana::banana: to get it posting again. Atm my board is dead displaying the FF code and refusing to boot for me....im depressed....:(

I was told that running a 9700 higher than 75agp is going to kill the card sooner rather than later.....:(

I can post and do windows @ 200 fsb. I cannot do 3d. And i do think it is my ram holding me down not the card.

185 is where i am at right now... i finally benched over 15K ! :)

hey Mr Icee Could you tell me the approximate resistance of your Vmem mod ? I'm going to try to get close with standard resistors and use a 10K pot for finer tunning and also as a protection against accidental extreme overvoltage.

EDIT: nevermind ... i'll just use a 50K pot to test as my board may differ somewhat from yours :)
