I've found that my 2.66 can do 3.04 ghz stable at only 1.46vcc....
only with aircooling also....

plus, i can POST and get into windows up to 3.3 ghz with only
that much vcc.... however my 4bda is malfunctioning and
it doesn't let me go 1mhz above 3.04 anymore....

Actually, I take that back... It does need stock 1.52vcc to
get to 3.3 ghz in windows on air.....

I also have a 2.66 and it does the same, with almost no overvoltage, I can boot into XP at 3340Mhz. But don't get fooled, run Prime 95 and you see the REALITY :)

hmmm..... these C1's are interesting indeed......

Do you know if the 3 ghz P4 with hyperthreading will
also be a C1 stepping? That would be awesome to
be able to run, say 3.5 ghz with no extra voltage ....

The overclocking potential has nothing to do with the "C1" stepping. Any 1.8 or 2.26 with the B0 does the same, and proportionally even better. There are many 1.8 which can be oc by 1000 Mhz. And the 2.26 (I had one) wnt up 800 Mhz, aircooled.

The C1 stepping is the new stepping for all P4 above 2.5 MHz, and will eventually cover all P4.

LOL, I am sure, but that's my 2.66, don't forget (not the mentioned 2.26) :) As all higher clocked CPU the 2.66 and the 2.80 don't yield as much the lower ones. Expect 600 Mhz, aircooled :)

What I'm saying is the C1 stepping requires less volts than the
older B0 steppings it seems.....

I mean, some of the 1.6A's or 2.26b's would OC by 800 mhz
at stock voltage, but most needed at least 1.7v......
