Guyz I got a PC p&C 300w psu real cheap. I opened it up and found 2 vr's inside :D 1 for the +3.3v rail near the back and another 1 on the pcb for the 5v & +12v rail. Now here's the problem: I check the 5v rail with a DMM and it shows 5.45v, no problem. I check the +12v rail and it shows 10.43v  Ok no biggie, i start the adjusting. As i raise the 12 volt line, the 5v line goes thru the roof @ 6v, then the overvolt kicks in and the psu shuts off. I try and get as close to 12v as possible, yet the 5v line gets close to 6v and again the ov kicks in shutting the psu off. I tried to adjust both rails evenly, but no go.

I can get the 5v rail to 5.5v, but that leaves the 12v line only 11.05v :( I found a 3rd vr in the center of the pcb close to the heatsinks, but that doesn't do squat.

My questions:
1) What is the 12v sense wire color?
2) Can i put a 10k or 50k pot to adjust only the 12v rail leaving the 5v rail untouched?

Any help is greatly appreciated! :D

you might have to put a load on the psu for the 12+ to be where it should be
I had a mATX psu that would read 11 with nothing on it and 12.2 in a computer
