Couple of interesting shots (from hardwareluxx.de (http://www.forumdeluxx.de/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=541&password=)) of new Abit boards here: -

An Intel LGA755 board with AGP? (Also, notice the old school northbridge mounting holes?)

Ummm... yeah. If people had to sign NDAs to get into CeBit and see all the stuff on the floor, no one would go... these images are perfectly acceptable. You don't have to sign an NDA to see stuff on the general floor.

AGP and DDR, with PCI-ex and DDR2 waiting for more acceptance?

looking at the asus in the intel stand the capacitors next to the cpu socket are NOT missing...something which makes me wonder of the heatsinks, waterblocks, and the cpu kits for the phase change units that will come so that they can be installed on top of the cpus

looks like its gonna have to be a full pc rebuilt for loads of us....

so start saving...and start selling your heatsinks and waterblocks :p

Nice pictures people, very interesting seeing these new boards and the new PCI slots :)

If you dont mind me asking where is CeBit placed in the world? USA? Also how much does it cost for a pass, and can any old so-and-so go?

Thanks, Anarki.

The AS7 is Abit's Socket T (LGA775) i865 Springdale board? That market's a bit saturated for the apparant demand?

Its a Tumwater chipset Xeon board.

I don't even want to know how much that thing costs...that has got to be so expensive to produce.

No, Grantsdale is i915 and Alderwood is i925...

The AS7 is a Springdale board, not a Grantsdale.

It takes the "value-performance" segment of those buying LGA775 processors. :)

LGA775 + i925P (X) = DDR2 + PCI-E 16X (ICH6-R)
LGA775 + i915P = Keeping DDR + PCI-E 16X (ICH6-R)
LGA775 + i865PE = Keeping DDR + Keeping AGP8 (ICH5-R)

Stange that Intel not allow for a newer chipset to keep AGP8X?

Soulburner

That's not going to be worth it at all...you are going to need a faster chipset to make up for the loss of a slower processor AND memory (Prescott + DDR2).

cant wait to get one in my hands.
