View Full Version : You have to See This AMD at 2.8ghz Stable...

Okay guys. I know this post is kinda weak but there is a guy over at www.overclokersforum.com saying that he has his xp2200 at 2.8ghz stable with prometeia. He claims that he hit 3ghz but it wasn't stable. I'm thinking that it is totally impossible.

Also I would like to note that the highest oc on vr-zones database for the 2200 was like 2.7ghz with LN2 and that it more than likely of course not stable.

Here's the thread if you guys are interested.

Don't believe it.

2.4 post in windows might be doable but thats it.

Maybe he's talking PR rating ;) but without a valid WCpuid screen i just don't buy it.

I can talk from prom&xp2200+ experiance

btw the differance from 2800mhz stable to 3ghz post is a little bit to high anyway

Hmmmm...has overclocked an XP to 2.8ghz with a Prometia and does not know what WCPUID is....right:)

yes. Its very interesting that someone with such a massive OC and someone that has a prometeia would know so little about what he's running. Interesting.

He can prove us all wrong if he shows that madonion compare :P But I highly doubt he'll produce it.

Thats what I'm thinking as well. 14 multi? What tha hell has a 14 multi? WCPUID's can be faked but a 3dmarks score would be impressive (compare link). Maybe a sandra screenshot and wcpuid shot both on desktop at same time and the compare link to 3d score?.

14x is possible if he switched the high/low on the cpu around but get this his mobo is a asus a7v266 running 207mhz?????????? think about that..

AMD 2200+ 1.8GHz @ 2.8GHz ( have gotten it to 3GHz but had some stability problems )
CPU temps idle: -38C full load: -23C
Asus A7V266 mainboard
GeForce4 Ultra/750 Ti4600 golden sample
Viewsonic VX700 17in. LCD display
Sound blaster audigy platinum
(2)corsair 512MB DDR333 PC2700
seagate 60GB 7200RPM (apps/games/etc.)
seagate 40GB 7200RPM(d/ls)

You know, if he was going to post a fake CPUID shot, at least he coulda done research to make sure it was semi-legitimate.

Since when has anyone EVER seen one of those screenshots with rounded off numbers?

14 multiplier? not 14.0?

Internal clock + system bus rounded off to a tenth? Every screenshot I've done has always rounded to the hundredth's, even if the last number was a 0.

To fake a capture of a screenshot takes little talent.....to fake one that badly? That's NO talent.

Wow....I'm so jealous....wonder if he'd consider selling one of those sticks of Corsair :D

Even funnier: If he had PC3500 at 4ns, he sure would be able to run that fsb higher than his screenshot...I mean, after all, supposedly, NForce2 has pci/agp locks on it, right? :D
