Ive been working on this for about a month, and ive still got a few things to do like wiring the fans and relay. ive got to make it airtight and a few other things

its cost me about $80-90 so far

id love to hear any suggestions/comments, its still a work in progress

Looks good but i doubt that heatercore is getting mcuh airflow with the fans being soo far away...

when the entire box is airtight as possible,(ive sealed all inside edges and corners and around the heatercore), and weatherstripping is applied to the lid and bottom, the air will have nowhere to go but through window(the fans are sucking air through case, not blowing)

Very nice job m8 :D

Are you going to paint that wood? Or will this be going someplace out of sight?

i think i might spray paint it metallic gray, dont know yet.

my computer will sit right on top of it, so it'll have to look good ;)

The box is airtight he doesent need a shroud. I've done it twice with cardboard and I get great temps!

did you get the bubbles out of your sys, AFI?

No need for a shroud. Air tight will do well. :) Looks good so far.

nice! use it like a prommie and put your case on top of it! paint it with car paint! cheap and very resistant... and it loosk very nice :D

If you put your case on top of it, won't it be difficult to bleed the air out of the system? Assuming you used a T-line, where would you place the T in the circuit? I guess you could have a really long fill tube coming off the T that stretches higher than the cpu block...

i dont use a t-line, that large white bucket is the resevoir that holds my pump. it holds about 1/2 -3/4 gallons, so bubbles are no problem

its a 1990 ford taurus hc i got off ebay for $20 shipped :D
It looked really crummy when i got it, but after a paint job it looked killer

Looks like the silicon or whatever you used around the HC is holding it pretty good so I'd removed those brackest to allow the whole surface to be exposed.

:toast:

that is only caulk, its not very strong. i used it only to make sure there was an airtight seal around the hc.

i wouldnt trust it to hold the heatercore in place while its full of water

Looks good. Good job. ;)

got some new pics:)

testing the deltas and the airflow around heatercore. its got real good airflow, but is
almost too loud. i might run the deltas off 7v instead of 12v. The thick particle board and almost airtight construction really dampens the noise, until you take off the lid

heres a pic of the weatherstripping i put on
