I'm getting a 512MB Winbond 5ns PC3200 as it is a lot cheaper than Corsair XMS3200C2 (6ns stuff pfffttt) and probably OC better. Gonna use it on my BD7-II. If you have Winbond, show me your OC, timings and Vdimm, thanks a bunch :)

Hmm..the 5NS don't OC higher than the 6NS rev B chips (which comes on the XMS3200C2).

I'm now at 163mhz FSB with 3:4 (mem-218), Vmem- 2.8V, 2-7-3-2.

Wanna bet?

Cant post benches atm as my games pc is set up for 3dmark and not even on :p.

Anyway...

3rd party (Apacer) PCB winbond 5ns 256mb @ 2.95v actual

173mhz 3:4 divider for 230 odd mhz. Timings 2/7/3/2/Enhance on for a sandra bench of 1850/1863. All this at only 2950mhz (2.26b). The above setting is 100% stable. I can 3dmark at 175mhz for about an hour, and 177mhz for one run, but it usually eats windows (thank god for norton ghost :p). 177mhz 3:4 at above timings gives me 1910/1923 in unbuffered sandra.

If you can find the Twinmos PC3200 with winbond chips (and not samsung) itll knock the pants off any of this corsair crap. Its the proverbial diamond in a coalfield though. At the 2.65v actual youll get from the BD7 you should be looking at about 233mhz with lowest timings. This stuff will do 200mhz 2/5/2/2/Enhance @ 2.5v after a week or 2 serious burn in.

My Corsair XMS3000 512meg stick lets me bench 3dmark at 171/228 @ 2-7-3-3 Enhance on @ 2.88 volts. Cant get any higher vdimm so dont know if the ram will go higher...:( Sandra runs same stick at 176/234 2.5-7-3-3 Enhance off.

If you guys get those Winbond 5ns 512meg sticks up to around the 240 mark then Ill be very very tempted to get one....:)

/me clicks subscribe to this thread :D
hehehe

Should have taken the TwinMOS Linh. Half the modules to deal with, and with twice the amount of memory, its basically a slower clocked module.

Hi PiLsY i can confirm your findings exactly ;) Twinmos with Winbond chips 2.8v cas2/7/3/2 @ 175fsb 3:4 on my IT7.
This is day 1 win this stick and plenty of burning to do yet hoping for 180fsb 3:4 stable @ cas2/7/3/2 im not too happy giving it more voltage just yet as i killed a stick of cheap Winbond with only 2.9v :mad:

Thatd be about in line Toofast. Im expecting around 3 - 5 mhz more from Twinmos before burn in. Whered you get it from btw?

Get some tweakmonster tin plated ramsinks on it m8. No worries about voltage or heat then. DIdnt give me any extra mhz with the winbond, but did allow me to drop voltage from 2.95v actual to 2.83v actual.

PiLsY and toofast: Do you huys know where in europe I could get myself 2x 256MB sticks of this memory (TwinMOS PC3200)? microland.co.uk don't ship outside the UK so looking for a shop that accepts creditcards and ships to adresses inside the EU.

I would prefer the Corsair XMS3200 C2 if I ware you.......Don't you....???? :D
This is a 512Mb Corsair XMS3200 C2 at 253MHz(506MHz DDR) with Cas 2,5 - 2 - 3 -7 T2....Isn't good enough????

hipro5
09-19-2002, 11:45 AM
And one UNBUFFERED S-Sandra mem bench....Isn't that a beauty or what???? This is at 250MHz(500MHz DDR at Cas 2 -2 -3 -7 T2 and for "everyday use".... :D

That's an amazing score, hipro5.
What voltage are you giving the RAM?

Creative ....We have almost the same CPU(the 2,26GHz I had before this one)and we have almost the same working "everyday" frequency use....Well next week I'll put it on my Prometeia and I'll keep you informed how it did..... ;) :toast:

Nice OC on that Corsair hipro5. what can it do at say like 3.2V. 3.4 is more than I can give to my memory. Actually 3.05.

With Vmem 3,2Volts it can do 249MHz(498MHz DDR) at Cas 2,5 - 3 - 3 - 7.....In your accually 3.05Vmem can do 245MHz(490MHz DDR).......I have passed of all the "stages" of memory voltages till know and still trying.....!!!! ;)

HiPro5,

I have yet to see ANYBODY who can duplicate your results.

Until I do itll remain a "freak incidence".

The corsair C2 3500 I tried was frankly pants (and im talking 5 sticks, diff date chips and from different sources here) and NONE of it went over 226mhz ddr at 2.5/7/3/3/Enhance off.

The P4B533-E is, im hearing, the best board out at the moment for pure memory bandwidth. This still doesnt validate the frankly amazing clock youre getting from that memory stick. When I see more people managing it m8 then ill change to corsair in a shot. until then though im happy with my winbond 5ns.

Thanks for your logical explanation PiLsY...I gess I'm a lucky guy though.....But my friends TASOS 512Mb Corsair XMS3000 C2 could do 239MHz(478MHz DDR) at Cas 2-3-3-7 T2.....He is a lucky guy too....;) :D

I find that all my memory scores can be achieved about 5fsb more than what i can run 3dmark at. Like this 512meg stick of XMS3000 using 6ns winbond can do Sandra at 234 2.5-7-3-3 but only do 3dmark up to 226 2.5-7-3-3.

Hipro gave a very good intructional guide at Overclocker Australia in the Intel forum on his burn in process to the non-believers who thought he was lieing...:rolleyes:

imo;
Oppainter = 3dmark guru
Hipro = Ram guru

:toast: to you both on the things that you both do :toast:

and PiLsY, I want some Winbond 5ns dammit :D

Photochop, right? LOL.

by the way my Corsair XMS3000 (samsung) will do at least 220fsb@2/3/3/6/2T. agp tearing is holding me back hard though (stupid VIA chipset)

Yeap....blah...blah...blah....Hey man I can post you EVERY 3 minutes(restarting my rig)with shots of my CPU speed , memory speed till memory reach at 254MHz(508MHz DDR) with the EXACT TIME AND DATE here in Greece....Do you think I'm so quick to do this and to Photoshop it too....????

Also you can go HERE (http://service.madonion.com/compare?pcm=674101) to check out my PCMark2002 with my memory at 250MHz(500MHz DDR)with 2 - 2 - 3 - 7 T2.....You think that this memory score you can do it with lower mem speed????.....I just don't think so!!!!....Keep in mind that the PCMark's 2002 memory score ,counts the VGA too so TAKE A GOOD LOOK at my VGA witch is a PURE GeForce4 440MX(not interesteed of any thing else)....If I had an ATI Radeon 9700 ,the memory score would be much higher than it is right now.....

Also TAKE A GOOD LOOK at this (http://www.ocsetiteam.com/index.php?targetframe=other/benchmark.htm) 2+ hour bench(click on Benchmark Result )......Can you do that with LOWER memory speed too????....Once more ....I just don't think so....

And take a GOOD LOOK AT this (http://hortenseti.skonux.net/benchmarkeng.php?type=ocsetiteam) one...It's the same SETI bench but made by JCviggen(moderator in this forum) with his AWESOME RDRAM....he's much more lower than me(for the time been)...And I'm just waiting for him to bench again with his new rig(P4 2,8GHz@3738MHz) to see what he'll do.....!!!!!

Also TAKE A GOOD LOOK at Madonion's Data base of PCMark2002(Project search and compare) and see were my rig is....DO YOU THINK I COULD DO THAT WITH LOWER MEMORY SPEED.....Once again....I just don't think so...!!!...

Cheers..... :flame:

UPDATED INFO...

I've done today a bench of 3DMark2001 with my memory 512Mb Corsair XMS3200 C2 at Cas 2,5 - 2 - 3 - 7 T2 and 250MHz(500MHz DDR)(couldn't do it at Cas 2-2-3-7).....with my poor GeForce4 440MX(not interested for something better than that cause I just don't play games)....at 188 MHz fsb and at 3571MHz
You can go HERE (http://service.madonion.com/compare?2k1=4540677) to check it out if you wish....Also now I'am at the TOP of 3DMark's score with the GeForce4 440MX in it's Data base....You can go at Project Search and Compare (http://service.madonion.com/servlet/Index?pageid=/orb/projectsearch) and you'll just see it(Select the GeForce4 440MX one).....The third score is also mine but with memory at about 241MHz(482MHz DDR) with Cas 2 - 2 - 3 - 7 T2......not much of a difference...

Now.....a friend of mine,Vaios, brought me a few days ago an ATI Radeon 9700 he just bought to test it.....but he took it back....He'll bring it to me next week(I hope) and WE'LL SEE what this VGA can do....

Thanks for the reply XeOn....but they have to register first to see this thread......

From that time till now as you can see a lot of things changed....with my new CPU I could do more "burn-in" at higher frequency(still burning-in....now I'm at 254MHz(508MHz DDR...and climbing up....) and fortunatelly could go that high...
