I tried installing it to and it won't letme. It's only because I have Windows 98 and Novell Login systems. You need the .NET framework for MSN Messenger to work which comes with 2k and xp. For 98 and 95 you have to download the .NET framework.

So the requirements for MSN is:
1) .NET Framework available from microsoft website I think
2) IE 5+ I think

You can try trillian though. It is able to login on AIM,ICQ,MSN,YAHOO all at once. But trillian dosen't work on my school computer either. The only thing that works is Aim.

you're still using 98????

There's no such thing as admin right on 98, next time read my post, i can't install it cause i don't have the right to write on certain part of the hdd, this is where msn wants the file to be written and it's denied access.

I already use trillian but imo it sucks, all my friends are using messenger6

Have you told it to install to the C:\ drive? If it gets a ascess denied then try installing to a network drive.

Damn why didn't i thought about it before???? Try installing msn and you can't choose where it'll be installed unless there's a way to force it elsewhere and this is what i'm looking for

Oh Ya i forgot about that.
The only 2 options you have is running trillian or asking your friend how he got on msn. If you do ask your friend, please letme know too eh?

Are you allowed to use USB drives on those computers...if so install it to one of them...a pen drive or something

Hmm I think CCW maybe right.

I would suggest that you install msn on your home computer, then burn the installed files onto a cdrom and copy it to the c:\ drive on your school computer. It should run then.

CCW i already tod that you don't have the choice on where to install messenger, otherwise i would have put it on my network account at school a long time ago

Why not ask the friend?

Because :
1 i don't know him
2 he's not my friend
3 i haven't seen it lately

Maybe if you download an older version of msn you can choose where to install it?
Or for a different OS like 95 etc?

When Me and my friend first installed aim and Emularos on school computers, people i did not even know in my class came upto me to ask me how to get on aim.

just do what John said, copy your messenger folder from home to your school account.

I doubt it would work (cause msn goes in all the places, plus the register keys) but i'll give it a try
