Windows 2000 Advanced Server

My server was working fine till I switched out the 1600+ that was in it with a 2000+, after a clean install of the OS I get the message Error- cannot load operating system. What's even weirder is that Mandrake 9.2 installed flawlessly and runs fine. I've already searched the KB and couldn't find anything. Any help would be much appreciated.

Might have a problem with a hidden partition trying to boot.

I completely formatted the HD, before I installed Server, XP also has the same problem. I tried changing the IDE cable too and that did not work.

For some reason the BIOS decided that even though my HD was in the boot order,
since the cd-rom was before it if there was no cd then it would not even bother with the HD
