I'm betting that everyone here experienced Windows Rotting.
It happens to me every 2 months even if I defrag and such.

I format about every 30 days,or just grab a fresh HD.

Hmmm makes me want to create a Ghost image of a Newly Installed Windows XP with all the drives loaded.
The only problem with that is the ghosted one would always be slower than a actually reinstall of windows xp

Actually it's just as fast as the day I installed it. I just keep stuff cleaned up I guess.

I'm a clean-registry addict.

So is it the registry that slows down XP?

I defrag the hardrive ( raid 0 2 x western digital 80 gig 8mb 7.2k rpm), Empty the rubbish bin and such. But it usually becomes slow. Is it because of the registry? How do I clean the registry??

I use Fixit Utilities 5.0, but if you do a Google search there are free and shareware registry applications available.
You will be amazed to see how much junk is deposited in the registry every time you install or uninstall an application. If this stuff is removed and the registry is defragged just like you defrag your hard drive, you will see a big improvement in speed. Even something as easy to do as deleteing your internet files in Explorer can speed up your PC a lot. ;)

It's always a good idea to backup your registry before you make any changes to it. Just to be safe, I would also create a restore point.
