well it depenedson what chips those sticks have..

bh-5
ch-5

im not sure about that mobo u got, but if you have bh-5 is say 220 is a chance, and if you got ch-5 then i doubt ull get much higher then what its rated..

i would download memtest+ 1.1 and run alot of tests be4 you go into windows and get a feel for how your memory handles..

If those KHX3500 are new they are CH-5, and lowest timings are 2-3-2-6

If they are BH-5 2-2-2-5

i still don't have them, don't know if it's bh5 or ch5.
i'm getting the memory, mobo and cpu for free :D and has we say in portugal "A cavalo dado não se olha o dente" it means :when the horse is given, it doesn't matter how the teeth are :toast:

`schr0et, in that case they will probably be ch5 :( , do you think i can get about 230-240 fsb with those timmings (2-3-2-6)?

If they are BH-5 2-2-2-5 Man, i have to repete it again: The new CH5s dont have the 250FSB wall problem and can do 2-2-2-X

I bought two sticks of 256M KHX3000 three weeks ago from Newegg.

Markings:
Kingston
V56646
0306P01
D328DW-45

Up to 243 FSB, 1:1 at 3.2v and 2-2-2-5 timings, dual channel. I don't care if they're BH-6, BH-5 or CH-5 they're doing just fine :D

lol, good point!

trow them 3.7V and see the first 300MHz 2-2-2-5!!!

I will try it my self :p

sjohnson

Well, 3.7 might happen. After 3.3, 3.4, etc. 3.3v is going to happen soon, these are just about tapped out at 3.2

skate2snow

whats your board?

If you have an ASUS, how high it can go at 2.85@ 0K resistance?

Never mind, since my PSU mod(to 3.7V on the 3.3 rail) i can go up to 3.67 at stock board volts... lol I think i will have enough

sjohnson

DFI INfinity, Vdimm modded. Since the Vdimm is driven off the 5v rail, 5v is the limit. heh, wonder how long they'd last at 5v ;)

yea, but SUPPOSED that at 4.0V and just a fan blowing on them( i will have some DI around too)there safe.

dang, I really gotta mod my board so its feeding the 3.3v line direct to the DIMMs ;)

skate2snow

yea, 3.7V will be very usefull. I will have a 2.4C cooled by chiller+DI, so I HOPE to get close to 4GHz, but at 4GHz i should normally use 3:2 coze of the low multi, but i will probably be able to get the 5:4:D

where did u read that the new CH5 doesnt have the 250fsb wall problem? i would like to know

skate2snow
03-04-2004, 08:46 AM
I have some brand new and dont have the problem and ive seen at least 10 other person thathave some brand new(new batches) and dont have the wall problem and can do 2-2-2-X.

For me IT'S A FACT that the new CH5 are completely different.

its not only at 250 though! i get the problem at 260, and another stick (corsair CH6) gets it at 268!

skate2snow
03-09-2004, 11:25 AM
but still, my new dont have that problem.

so whats the max you can do with a divider?

skate2snow
03-09-2004, 02:12 PM
I dont know, my chip was not good OCer, but i couldnt test. But i was able to do the same OC(w/ any divider) w/ my olds PC2700

:stick:

sry maybe i wasnt clear. let me re-phrase were you able to go higher than 260fsb?

skate2snow
03-10-2004, 12:45 PM
I was able to do 273MHz w/ 4:5(i dont remember which FSB). But it was not over 220FSB. But ive seen like two pairs like mine{2-2-2-x}(on Intels chipset, coze Grace say NF2 have a bug w/ the timings), that could do WAYYYYY over 250FSB.

enzoR
03-10-2004, 01:30 PM
4:5

:stick:

My KHX 3500 Ch5 also does that... but 5:4 and 3:2 over 260 is a no go. :(

and yea... mine do 2-2-2-5 but it ends up being slower.

WTF 273 mhz :slobber: :slobber: :slobber:

what voltage?

good job!!

skate2snow
03-10-2004, 01:33 PM
i will test it man when i will have my 2.4C(3 days!). I hope i dont have that problem. If yes, i will look for some OCZ PC4400!

enzoR
03-11-2004, 03:33 AM
I hope you wont have that problem m8... its soo damm annoying... 260... BEEEEEPPPPP.

O well... i can go over it 1:1 with 3.6v :D ;)

enzoR
03-11-2004, 03:35 AM
and skate, what voltage did u feed your mem for them to do 273?

skate2snow
03-11-2004, 11:49 AM
Only 3.3V, but it was not 100% stable. After like 1hour of folding it was crashing. I Think the 250FSB wall can be jumped w/ some high voltage, no?

And if no, i to buy some new stock
AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well 1 week ago, i bought some ram for my freind... KHX 3500 aswell as he was impressed with 260mhz with 3.4v on my sticks :D

i tryed it in my rig.. and its the same.. it runs 2-2-2-5 just like mine... but even with 3.6v it dont want to go over the prob :( i treid up to 3.8v on mine... and it wouldnt go... they got damm hot though. seems like this will never be fixed, maybe only with a revision in the chipset.

I have the last mobo revision, and the last CH5 revision. So all the chance are on my side

Running my Hyper-X 3500 dual channel kit @ 232MHz 2-3-2-6 right now with 2.9V.

Memtest stable 204MHz 2-2-2-5 @ 2.9V

If I set the timings to 3-4-4-8 I cant even get past 250
