I have an Antec smartpower 400w power supply and have done the 3.3v line and the 5/12v line mods.
It works fine and does its job, but it tends to vary a LOT. It will go from 3.47v to 3.41v (in the abit hardware monitor) which is just a bit too much for my likings. I'm wondering what kind of options I have availble to me when it comes to stablizing the rail?

I used the method suggested in the Antec Trupower mod thread.
If you're going to say caps, please specifiy voltage/uF so I know what to look for. Thanks!

10 Ohm / 1K vr used?

I did the mod with 47 omh and a 10K pot on a trupower 380W and the 3.3 is the most stable of them al?

have u tried to measure voltages with a multimeter right at the ATX connector? do they also fluctuate there? coz if not i wouldn't really worry about it...

Yea, I've measured them on not the atx connector, but that other at connector and I remember them being pretty stable. I just don't get how the motherboards sensors could be off by so much. I think I did the mod using a 47 ohm resistor, and I guess I didn't read Macci's post in the original thread which said 10ohm/10k is the most stable. I guess I'll go back and reDO it. Hopefully it'll make a difference. I still wouldn't mind putting a nice cap on the 3.3v line if anyone knows what kind of cap I'd need.

I came across this problem with my 400w smartpower, too, but it only happens when going above 3.48v. Its rock solid below there.

This is measured right from the ATX connector, btw.

10 ohm/1K used.. but it seems there is only about 1/2 turn of effective range between about 3.45v and 3.6v+..

Yea, I noticed the same thing, where it jumps from 3.45v -> 3.6v suddenly. Kind of a pain in the butt. I need the high 3.3v line for the videocard memory (draws from it directly) but I don't think it varying from 3.44(idle)-3.41(load) is going to do me a ton of good either :(
