Hey ppl!

Just joined the Forums and I wanted to know how far to push the Vcore on my P4 without problems(or Meltdown).
(Iknow,No pain/No gain!)

I would appreciate if all of you could give me some of Your results in this matter.
:D :D :D

Welcome to Xtreme. I think what I was told is 1.7 to 1.75 is safe for 24/7 operation and higher is safe for short periods.

1.725 is my personal safety bar, but like ususual, you should always go as low as you can. The nice thing about the p4 is the 3-yr warrenty, so thats a bit of a safety net if you ask me.

Threw Caution to the Wind!

Allright,took it to the limit for a short period(1.81v in hardware doctor),but evidently at 3068@180FSB, I hit a Wall(BSOD)!

Probably hit the dreaded OC Limit on my P4.:brick:

First off, Welcome to the forums! :)
Second, I suggest you do some reading about the p4's before doing any extensive playing with your voltage. Make sure your comfortable with it. I've seen a lot of others around talking about their p4's degrading from higher voltages.
Try raising your fsb till you hit the wall, then raise your voltage up a notch and give it another go. Go in small baby steps like that and you should be allright.

Thanks for the Welcome, and I've turned it down to my original max(1.68v).

Just wanted to try it one time to see what would happen. Maybe I'll cool it down some more before I Try again.
