I'm going to get a Radeon 9700 this week, and I want
the best overclocker I can get.....

So far, I've seen these options:
ATI
Sapphire
Gigabyte

I notice that the Gigabyte comes with gold colored ramsinks
on it....

Also, I think the Hercules R9700 is going to be out soon,
and it also comes with factory ramsinks.....

So does anyone know which will clock the highest?

Get the ATI card. They make them both in China and Canada. Get the one made in Canada if you can.

I'm probably going to order it from newegg..... guess it'll be
a crap shoot... maybe the agp voltage adjustment option
on my new 4bda will help......

www.ocsystems.com has it for 339... cheaper than newegg ;)

Also, there is another company, Apollo, making 9700's.

Can anyone tell me if I can use the svideo port to use
a tv as a second monitor? So that I would have a regular
vga screen running as well as a screen being displayed on
the TV? Just curious

You can indeed you the S-Video to make your TV a second monitor. Not very useful for reading on, but if you have an HD-TV it can look pretty good.

I just got my ATi branded 9700 and was wondering how I can tell if its made in canada or China.

Can I tell from just looking at the card? I didnt get a box cos the shop got the order in Bulk so I have a manual, Driver cd and the card....no shiny box...:(

Can I still identify the build location just from the card?

Cheers
:)
