I need some good 80mm case fans.

Which 80mm are the best case fans out there? I have a Nexus fancontroller, so I can just turn them down, if they are to noisy, but I still need some airflow (CFM) though...

Vantec 80mm Tornado - 80+ CFM @ 54+ dBA.

Who do you purchase those fans through? The link on the site says "contact for quote". Is there a price list ? And minimum order? Thanks...

They mostly sell huge amounts to huge companies. I did get a 92mm sample fan and it's a top quality fan for sure. I would start out by dropping this distributor an email with your questions.

When I have more time, I will check the 92mm fan out more closely. I'd like to replace the tornado I have on my heatsink with it and compare performance vs noise, etc. ;)

DO NOT GET Tornadoes FOR A CASE FAN!!!! , unless you get 1.

they are loud as a mofo, but they cooool none the less.

I like the Panaflo @ www.svc.com
many to choose from.

The tornado/pound of copper HS combo I have is just for short term testing of mobos...check for DOA, etc...wouldn't dream of running a pc with it 24/7. :D

He did ask for the best 80mm, and if best is most airflow, then you can't much beat a Tornado ;)

Yeah....it does all depend on how you define "Best". For me it's a combo of factors.

I like panaflows, good soild fans. I've got some other fans here too made by nidec, they're supposed to be thermally controlled but I desolderd the diode and linked the 2 pads. They are a bit noisy but they put out a lot of air with a small deadspot.

Man these new fans look Kewl! "Tip-Magnetic Driven"...no large center spindle.

Have ZERO idea of what the MTBF rates of this design would be vs. the standard though.

Did I say these look cool? At least I think so....I might have to get some and try em out....but I have not found an 80MM version yet.

the thermaltake smart fans arent too bad either, they'll move up to 74 cfm @ max rpm... But they're loud as a case fan as well... mine sounds like a hair-dryer when I ramp it up...lol

personally, i like the Tt Smart Case II fans. they deliver 75CFM at 5000 RPM. not bad considering you can get them dirt cheap.

Panaflos are the best.

For best noise to cfm rate, find some Noiseblocker fans which are german made, going by the company's stats they are about the lowest noise fan going.

The 80mm Noiseblocker S2 fan offers 30cfm @ 19 dba. The S1 22 cfm @ 11 dba.

They also have 92mm and 120mm fans.

www.mutepc.net The only site in Can. or US I know of that has them at the moment.
