HWBot has announced the third edition of the Team Cup, running from June 1st to September 30th. This year's competition consists of four sub-competitions with very specific hardware requirements. There is a stage for everyone!

The competition details can be found below or at HWBot (http://hwbot.org/news/10899_hwbot_team_cup_2014_announced_30_stages_from _june_1st_until_august_31st/). Please let me know if you want to participate and which hardware you want to use. If you have any questions feel free to post in this thread!

It has been a long wait for the Team Cup fanatics, but it's finally here! The HWBOT Team Cup 2014 continues the tradition of the Team Cup series featuring a challenging series of benchmarks to be run with a wide variety of hardware. Just like the previous years, the Team Cup is split up in separate competitions. This year we have four: a CPU challenge, a GPU challenge, a Memory challenge and a Miscellaneous challenge.

Below you can find an overview of the benchmark and hardware limitations in the four sub competitions.

The timeframe is the same for each of the sub-competitions. We start on June 1st 12PM GMT+0 and wrap things up on August 31st 12PM GMT+0. Over the course of the three months you can submit to any of the stages in the four sub-competitions and gather points for your team. On August 24 1PM GMT+0, seven days before the end of the competition, an elimination takes place and only the five best teams will be allowed to continue submitting until the very end.

Will Madshrimps from Belgium dominate the Team Cup again, or is Overclock.net out for revenge? Amongst the favorites we must definitely include the HwBox team from Greece as they dominated all the warm-up rounds. Or maybe this year we?ll see an outsider capture the gold. Let?s wait and see!

Good luck to everyone!

Considering the handful of platforms I have now, new and old, wiffed pretty hard on all of these :ROTF:

I'll get to some scores up if I come across some of these. Good luck guys!

Guys, don't forget the competition wallpaper (http://news.hwbot.org/Competitions/850_TeamCup2014/teamcup-2014-wallpaper.jpg)! :)

You have a Yonah setup, right? ;)

I'm in for Socket 462 Memory Clock, Athlon XP PiFast and I suppose I can provide K8 Reference clock, though AM2 is not going to have much on S939. I might be able to work on single core CB 11.5 as well, depends if I can pick up an AM2+ board.

I don't have retail cpu's, Ill look more to see what old stuff I have

I can do the Q6600 Wprime 1024M and maybe the single core cb11.5 if I get a good single core. I've been wanting a Sempron for a while now. I will also do the 3DMark Fire Strike GTX 780 Ti but not sure what cpu I will use. There are a few others I can do if we need them.
What I want to do but don't have hw for (yet) are the GeForce3 3DMark2001 SE, GT 610 Cloud Gate, 2x Radeon R7 240 3DMark11 Performance, Aquamark3 AGP, Catzilla 720P GTX 580 and the Heaven DX11 PCI stages.

Those are a lot of stages you plan to work on. Stages like GT 610 Cloud Gate, 2x Radeon R7 240, Heaven DX11 PCI and Catzilla 720P GTX 580 can all be done on the same setup as the 3DMark FS GTX 780 Ti stage, for the other two with older hardware you'd have to invest into an entirely new setup. Though I like that you're enthusiastic about this competition, I'm not sure if it's worth it to find the best old hardware for just two stages.

I wouldn't be too opposed to picking up a GT 610 PCI for $49. Can Cloud Gate and DX11 PCI can be done both on that card?

EDIT:
Forgot I had two sticks of TCCD. 512MB sticks... I can't get DFI LP Ultra-B to POST async, only 1:1 up to 260 MHz.

I think so, yeah...

We'll figure it out! ;)

Those are a lot of stages you plan to work on..

HA! My first thought was "I'm doing all the stages" lol. I got my q6600 mounted and a fresh xp install on my ssd but I don't have time to really bench until the 23rd or 24th of this month. I'm going on vacation! :D

Leave some stages for the rest of us! :D
Remember to use XP SP3, or your WPrime score will suck.
Have a nice trip! :)

I was able to finally get some benching in. Had some issues with my SS at first but managed a descent time in the q6600 Wprime 1024M stage. I can get more out of it later.

This is a small news post to inform the Team Cup 2014 participants that we have extended the competition time by one month to accommodate those active in the many other competitions. The Team Cup requires the teams to compete on a wide range of hardware. Sourcing the components, figuring out its limitations and obtaining the best possible results takes up a lot of time. Given the incredible amount of ongoing competitions at the moment, we want to give those competing for the live competitions as well as other online competitions a bit of room to breathe.

The idea was posted in the forum and it seems most agree with the time extension. We will update the competition pages and news articles to reflect the new competition deadlines. The elimination date is now September 23, 12PM GMT+0 and the competition ends on September 30, 12:00PM GMT+0. Good luck everyone and enjoy the extra time to win those awesome Cooler Master prizes!

I'm sure I already know the answer to this but I'm going to ask anyway. Can we use the i7-4790K? I only ask because I see a few folks using them and well I have one too.

On a side note this years Team Cup has been extended so you lazy ones can be more lazy.:D:D;)

edit: I just saw your post Don_Dan lol

Don_Dan

Actually, I don't know if it's okay to use the 4790K. I think it is, but I'll ask Pieter. :)

Sorry for being lazy! :p:

By the way:

A heads-up based on some emails I received. Even though the rules state that the hardware must be released before June 1 (the start of the competition), I think we can just allow the 4790K/4690K/G3258 no problem. They don't give a benefit in any of the stages since the overclocking capability is pretty much that of their counterparts.

Any objections?

There are some easy points/places in the Memory Challenge stages (http://hwbot.org/competition/team_cup_2014_sc3/) to be had. All you have to do is run CPUZ. If anyone has a Sandy Bridge (http://hwbot.org/competition/team_cup_2014_sc3/stage/1440_sandy_bridge_memory_frequency) sys and don't mind posting some mem clocks you could easily get a good rank.

Also if anyone out there has 32G memory (http://hwbot.org/competition/team_cup_2014_sc3/stage/1475_32gb_memory_frequency) could you please post something! Currently there are only 14 entries so that is at least 15 points added to our over all score! We are ranked 32 over all right now and every little bit counts so lets start benching! :yepp:

George said he could do the SB stage, not sure if he has the time to do so though besides working, studying and testing DDR4.

I've already asked someone to post a 32GB score, but if someone else could post a score it would be highly appreciated.

I should of starting :banana::banana::banana::banana:ing sooner than the last week of a 3 month long competition. :D I know anything is possible but I don't think we can take the over all victory. All I want now is to beat OCAlliance, lab501.ro and Australia OC.

That's the problem if the competition runs for such a long time. There's always looooooots of time left...
Overall victory was never possible! :D
But there's this one stage that I'd like to do well in...
