Hi folks, My current motherboard is failing and I can't find a replacement . So I'm looking to build a new system . I'm looking at the 4770K cpu but can't decide on a mobo. I do not overclock and mainly use my pc for photo shop and gaming. Could you please advise me on a stable motherboard preferably one from Asus unless you know of a better one. I appreciate your time for helping me out.

why not just get an intel board if you are looking for stock clock and stability? also i've seen many ppl with a 3770k who upgraded to a 4770k that said they would buy the 4770k, just not as an upgrade from the 3770k, however those were early adopters.

Take a look on eBay...lots of new X58 motherboards there for a reasonable price, unless you're wanting a new system. Your GTX 570 will be holding you back in gaming with the i7-4770k, so if I were you, I'd simply find a new X58 motherboard and look at a video card upgrade.

My $0.02...;)

Sorry I had not updated my signature , I have the GTX 670 instead of a 570 . I was thinking it would be better to upgrade since the x58 boards are no longer in production. I know for what I do it probably would not make a difference. I prefer the Asus motherboards as I'm familiar with their bios setups and have always had good luck with them. Is there one you could recommend with at least 8 sata ports and that is reliable ?

LGA1150, Asus, 8 or more SATA ports? Plug that into the search of Newegg and take your pick:

ASUS MAXIMUS VI GENE LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard $209.79
ASUS Z87-PLUS LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard $162.99
ASUS SABERTOOTH Z87 LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard $249.99
ASUS Z87-PRO LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard $209.99
ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard $219.99
ASUS Z87-EXPERT LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard $229.49

I have used Asus boards almost exclusively in all my builds for some time now, all should be pretty reliable.

If thunderbolt 2.0 is something you are interested in spend the extra cash on the quad board.
