Format a SSD?

I want to start from scratch, should I format my SSD before I install my OS?

I would secure erase it, then format it. You can usually find a toolbox from the vendor who sold you the SSD :)

You can secure erase any SSD with OCZ Tools (linux based). Then format it and make sure to align it. Try 1024k. Is the average best option :). After installation are some tweaks. After just secure erasing, your SSD shpuld perform like new
