View Full Version : So it seems the 780 ti is a no brainer?

For only roughly $100 more than the 290x, speculation is the speed will be pretty similar. Alternatively, the 780 will use less power and run much cooler giving it superior overclockability. Am I missing something? The release date being just over a week away won't this be the card to go for?

It's $150 more.

Moved to Nvidia as this is not a news post.

$580 and $699 is what I saw, so yea, about 119. But still, it seems like a no brainer to me? You disagree Kam03?

Edit: saw one for 550 so yes, about $150. I still will be aiming toward this card. Tri sli only $450 more. I think it's an easy call

i think tri sli is always a bad call. the only reason you would need that kind of power is multi monitor or 4k, and amd seams to do better with the giant resolutions. with the xbone and ps4 using amd parts similar to the desktop parts, and with mantle i would bet that amd will get a nice bump. you also have dx11.2 with amd but only 11.0 (i assume 11.1 but it says 11.0) with NV so native windows support for multi monitor and rendering more than 1 thread at a time could be worth it in the long run.

i really wish that watchdogs was not delayed as i think that would be a good metric for what next gen ports will be like.

I run eyefinity. And no real budget. I think tri sli, giving the diminishing returns aren't too bad, is a good idea for my setup. Batman max dx 11.2 on eyefinity should warrant the route I plan on taking I believe.

So I'll get 11.2 with 290x only? And do we know if the 780 ti will be 4gb or not?
