PMC Announces 12Gb/s Adaptec Series 8 SAS RAID Adapters

Here's an announcement I stumbled across whilst making my daily rounds...thought it'd deff qualify for the extreme section. ;)

"PMC today introduced the Adaptec Series 8, a new family of 12Gb/s SAS RAID adapters which feature an end-to-end PMC architecture which incorporates PMC?s I/O protocol controllers, RAID-on-Chip (RoC) controllers, SAS expanders, Solid State Drive (SSD) controllers, and software."

Too bad only Areca have big cache memory. That is one of the reason I am an Areca fanboy.

I just waiting for Areca 12gb/s sas3 with 8GB+ cache :D

HP will make a Smart Array P430/830 version with more than the meezly 1GB

Some quick searching looks like
P830 will have 4Gb
P430 will have 2 or 4GB
