LSI 9261-8i compatible with P67 motherboards?

Is the LSI MegaRAID 9261-8i card compatible with P67 motherboards? I was planning on running this card on an Asus P8P67 Pro motherboard, but I have read that LSI's 6Gb/s MegaRAID cards do not work on P67 motherboards.

Can anyone confirm or deny this? Thank you.

There are a few P67 boards that support LSI RAID cards but very few from that era. I noticed that ASUS just added LSI support for a few Z87 boards.

LSI Raid and HBA's work like a charm on my P55 board.
Older Gigabyte boards had some issues with LSI cards

What would be the issue with them running on P67 boards? I wasn't aware of the incompatibility.
