Hey guys,

I'm wondering if its okay to suspend an MCP-655 instead of mounting it? It would be held on to the tubing by hose clamps. 1/2"x3/4" tubing.

I can't seem to find a good stand for it and I want to reduce vibrations...

Would this work?

There are some people that run pumps hanged in tubing. Sometimes though vibrations can also be passed to case structures also with tubing. And preferably position pump in such way so that inlet is from side or from above, not from below.

As long as it's clamped, go right ahead. It can help a lot with vibrations, but shorter sections of tubing still have the potential to pass on a little of the vibration. Also be mindful that the tubing will soften when the water warms up, and may not support the pump as firmly. If possible, I'd suggest using the tubing to position the pump, but put a little bit of foam or felt underneath to support most of the weight.
