May recycle my acrylic C3 case from 2004. But, will the new mobo and psu fit?

Building a new gaming rig for my son. To save some cash, and get creative, my son and I were thinking of using the C3 acrylic case with the old socket 939 system. The question is, are the new 850+ watt psu's heavier that they may crack the case and will the newer socket 1155 case actually bolt up and fit in there. Was thinking of using a Corsair H90 water cooler and cutting a 140 mm hole on the side of the case and venting it outward. Thoughts?
