HWBot has announced the second edition of the Team Cup (http://hwbot.org/competition/team_cup_2013/), running from February 1st to April 30th. This year's competition consists of four sub-competitions with very specific hardware requirements. There is a stage for everyone! ;)

In last year's Team Cup (http://hwbot.org/competition/team_cup_2012) we finished 14th, let's see if we can make it into the Top 10 this year.

The competition details can be found below or at HWBot. Please let me know if you want to participate and which hardware you want to use. If you have any questions feel free to post in this thread!

The Team Cup is back! As announced in the report of the last edition of the Country Cup, from February 1 until May 1 HWBOT is hosting the second edition of the Team Cup. In case you don't remember, the last edition was won by Overclock.net, so they are obviously the big favorites for this edition as well. The main theme of the Team Cup 2013 revolves around high-end performance since the beginning of this millennium. We took the most high-end components available at every second year, starting from 2000, and build a competition around it featuring the benchmarks SuperPI 1M, 3DMark03 and 3DMark Vantage.

The competition format is a little bit different than last year. We have reduced the amount of sub-competitions and stages, but slightly increased the hardware complexity. Even more than last year, it's quite likely you will have to poke your active and inactive community members to help out or even recruit new members! Also, the focus lies with older hardware and not so much the new gear. New this year is also the "Live Performance" stage which is designed as incentive to go out and promote your overclocking team and its activities in the outside world.

For this competition, we're teaming up with new HWBOT partner Cooler Master for the prizes. Both Cooler Master and HWBOT wish all the participating teams the best of luck!

First and foremost, the Team Cup is about strengthening the team spirit and promoting your overclocking activities within the realm of your own forum and online social group. It's about having fun and sharing the passion of overclocking more than it is about winning and breaking records. Feel free to share your group session pictures with the rest of the forum and maybe make a couple of funny group photos.

Secondly, winning is a lot of fun! Even though the competition is a little trickier than last time, we hope you can find the inspiration and motivation to kick ass like you do in the previous Team Cup and all the Country Cups.

For the record-hunters amongst you, we will be posting the top scores for each stage in the forum so you have a target. For the extreme record-hunters amongst you, this year there's a total of 1750 points to be acquired in the Team Cup stages. Last year, Overclock.net got an impressive 606/1050 (~ 57.7%) ... maybe you and your team can do better this year?!

Good luck to everyone!

Thanks to l0ud_sil3nc3 and Warboy for the next two submissions: IB 1M (http://hwbot.org/submission/2360107_) and Conroe/Kentsfield Vantage (http://hwbot.org/submission/2359557).

I'm aware that the Vantage submission is lacking the competition background, this will be fixed with a new score soon.

Hello everyone, I just won a Gigabyte 790x-UD4P yesterday!!! I have never oc AMD before nor have I had a Gigabyte mb! There are so many cpus this board supports and they are for the most part cheap. I have 3 cpus right now and I am looking at several more to use for the team cup.

We need all the help that we can get with the comp, so the more you can submit the better. Good luck!:)

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been into this at all the last few months.

It's getting quiet in here!

I've made a lot of progress with my life lately, still not at home, may not go back at all any time soon, but I plan to go back there this week and maybe I'll pick up some LN2 to burn.
I'll focus on Phenom II SuperPi probably, whenever I get the most out of the chips I'll dump my Hypers too for whatever they're worth. I had a lot of trouble the last round with my Hypers and 965 BE, they might have degraded or the board/IMC flaky, who knows. My 955 too is worth probably 6.9 in 1M but I had all kinds of problems with it the last time on LN2.

I've gotta fix my MIVE's IME code and get that stuff sold this week too, maybe I'll be able to get decent money for the CPU on ebay still or something.

We still have one month left for the competition, if you can do Phenom II that would be great, but don't feel bad if you can't do it. We aren't competing for victory anyway. :D

You're right, it's quiet in here, but I still expect some more scores for the competition! ;)

I also have a rather mediocre 5600+...

Give it a shot because all my cpu are bad.....the best I could do is with my 4800+ and I think it has something wrong with it, memory shows lower than it should be. When you select 400MHz in bios cpuz shows 360MHz. Also I think its the wrong stepping.

Anyone going to bench 3d? The best gpu I have is a GTX460 (for now) but I do have a pair of HD4850s that I want to pair one with a Agena.

OK cool. I was bidding on an X4 9950 but lost by $.50!!! I was out of the house at the time it ended.

Too bad! Do you use the ebay app? It's very useful in case an auction ends and you aren't at home.

Yeah I'd like to bench that setup too but im behind on the 939 stuff so it might not happen.

I'll make sure to bench the E6600, but I don't I'll be able to bench S939.

Anyone going to bench 3d? The best gpu I have is a GTX460 (for now) but I do have a pair of HD4850s that I want to pair one with a Agena.

I don't think anyone will bench 3D, the best VGA I have is a GTX260, but I don't have the correct GPUs for the older CPUs.

Currently I have lots of hardware and not lots of time...

Talking about lots of hardware and not lots of time...

I'm just the opposite, lots of time and no hardware.

Your hardware collection will grow over the years, trust me. :D

I got a good run on the E6600, but I couldn't reach sub 10s although I tried really hard. ( Conroe 1M (http://hwbot.org/submission/2373832_) )
I've already posted all my scores at HWBot, unfortunately I didn't have time for the P4 but after 16 hours of benching I called it a day. I'll post some more screens and info in the Xtreme Overclocking forum later. I just came home about an hour ago and now I'm dead tired... :coffee:

Well team cup is over and I had a great time! So glad that I participated! It takes so much time doing 3d I wish I had a few more days. Only managed to upload one score. http://hwbot.org/submission/2377916 Can't wait for the next one!

Yeah good job to all that participated. For me, it was a bitter sweet return to benching the socket 939 platform but that's the way it goes sometimes. I'll keep the setup and try it again at somepoint but for now my overckocking is done until next fall/winter.

Hope you guys have a great summer!

Somene reported my Ivy 1M sub as incorrect due to not being able to see the cpuz version, I think I have the screen with it but I don't think it really matters.

Looking forward to your S939 scores then. Have a great summer and see you again in fall! :)

I've already commented on it, I don't think this will be a reason to moderate the submission. Everything is clearly visible and shown correctly.

Massman has written an article about the Team Cup 2013! (http://hwbot.org/news/9497_team_cup_2013_recap_madshrimps_be_wins_beats_ overclock_net_ca_and_pure_us/)

BeepBeep2's result is getting some attention!

My E6600 1M submission was actually the sixth most-valuable submission to the Team Cup, based on points. :)
