Hi, maybe someone has an idea about this problem.

I am running Tri-SLI GTX 680 4gb with the Swiftech MCW82 blocks and their Tri-SLI bridge. Cards 1 and 2 idle at 30c and load in mid 40's. Card 3 idles at 33c and spikes to mid 60's at load. I have re-mounted the block on card 3 three times now with identical results. Also, I have tried both ways of connecting the parallel bridge. The loop - Res, pump, 240,240,Tri-SLI bridge,360,3930K,Res. The only thing I have not tried is opening the block and having a look inside - (Brand new block). Any ideas?

Thanks,

Have you checked the utilization on the cards? Perhaps the third card has a higher utilization due to physX or something?

Thanks for the thought and yes I have :) Oddly the boost clock on that card is 1202 vs. 1178 on the others. Guess I should try heat probe to rule out faulty reporting.

Try and switch the hotter card/block with another one, maybe there is something about the bridge.

Have you also tried switching the card order to see if the high temps remain on that card?

Thanks to all that replied :) Did a tear down and redo of the entire bank of cards/bridge and was finally successful. Perhaps heavy on the TIM as these naked chips seem to require less. Used a spread method and all three are happy and cool :)

Excellent. You dont need alot of TIM on these. When i first installed my TTII i applyed a "good spot" of tim and after a few days my temp raised quite a bit on the GPU. Unmounted the cooler to find a thick TIM layer between the GPU and the cooler. I reapplyed a very small amount of paste and now my temps are ~50?c while gaming. In silence :)
