Maybe you should make that Windows XP 64-bit Edition for 64bit Extended Systems as Windows XP 64-bit Edition is already availbe for IA64 to buy (Only preinstalled on itanium workstations though)

Sounds great if you have 64bit drivers...

Via released some beta 64bit chipset drivers today..but still havent found any NF3 64bit drivers.

Their is also some hacked 64bit AC97 sounddrivers...

Their are 64 bit forceware for FX cards..but no ATI 64bit drivers that I have seen

Please note that in either case, the pre-release software is time-limited and will expire in 360 days.

i wish my shuttle would get back from RMA so i could give this a try. maybe i'll load it up on the media PC... it's not overclocked, but it is using via drivers... although that would kill my AIW card, hmm... curses ATI!

wow, that is a nice boost... so it runs 32-bit apps ok? or is that pcmark 64bit? any idea when ATI will release drivers (particularly WDM's?)

windows xp 64bit uses wow64 ,a little tool that switches between 32bit and 64bit mode depending on the drivers and apps you run. you can use any 32bit app in winxp 64.

Ati's policy is not to release drivers for a beta os. So they didn't release any drivers for it yet. There are 64bit drivers but they are for FireGL. If anyone can manipulate them so they will work for 9800's, then you will be loved. I also noticed a big speed increase with this installation. I'm still glad I got this FX-51.

you can always mod the 9800 to a firegl

someone send the guy at omegacorner a nice little check and ask him to write us some 64-bit drivers.

NeGe0

I know you could make the 98pro and switch the bios to firegl, but i'm not sure if it'll work with the xt.

wow, 1 year trial.

does that mean windows 64-bit won't go gold until next year and won't be available for retail commercially?

that would be pretty stupid for micro$oft ... to release the XP64 after Longhorn is out

Longhorn isn't going to come out til like 2006. So we will definitly see windowsxp 64 before longhorn.

does anyone know how to convert a 9800 to fire gl so i can get it working with winxp64? would this be able to be done on a software level or would i have to flash the bios?

Here are some beta VIA (http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=300) drivers for you. Hmm, got my copy of 64-bit Win from MSDN, wonder if it's trial as well?

There's 9800 pro drivers in windows XP64 I know just used them, they used wierd driver #'s though its right between the 3.6 and 3.7 cats.

Can i use my XT in Win XP 64??

Awperator

Yeah, but you cant use openGL. The ati drivers that are included are really weak, IMHO. I dont think that ATI will support 64bit like nvidia is, until the OS goes gold.
