Wondering if anyone has gotten any of the off the shelf self contained setups like corsair etc to work on card somehow.

You can easy get it to work with an h70 or the like, just have a fan and hs's over the vrm area.
I fit my h70 on every card i used lately,i just use zip ties as screws.

the arctic cooling solution is much better idea than low end liquid cooling.

The thing is the h70 is 1 size fits all, arctic cooling not so much.

except that the 28x have the proprietary spacing so you need something funny to make an h70 fit.

performance-pcs has back stock on them and if you watch it it should go on sale for about $40

you can also mod the normal one, but it will be a pain.

All you need is 4 zip ties for the h70,the spacing does not matter.
That hsd/fan will be useless for most other cards after the 2xx series where as a h70 would fit any card from 76gt - gtx680.

This might be a pretty dumb question but does this logic apply to other H** coolers as well? I've got an H60 and would love to experiment with it as a VGA cooler!

The h60 "block" is a big square but it still might fit the 280 np.
i could not fit an h100 on as many cards as i can the h70 simply cus its round and will fit on more cards.

the biggest thread on it around here
for more info.

EDIT
i just fit my square block h100 on a 260 i had laying around but i cant test it cus cards has been dead was just to see if any big issues fitting it.
all you have to do is take off the mount kit or bend the two "hold downs" at the bottom of the block and use thin tie shraps, heatsinks and air over the rest like any other card its np.

Whats up cowie!!!

From what I saw the Arctic Cooling Accelero Hybrid supports pretty much any card anyone these days would be considering putting it on, although I was just told in another thread my 480 is so old I can't possibly play games at my native res of 1920x1200, haha.

Compatibility list for Accelero Hybrid:

AMD Radeon: HD 7870, 7850, 6970, 6950, 6870, 6850, 6790, 6770, 5870, 5850, 5830, 4890, 4870, 4850

NVIDIA GeForce: GTX 680, 670, 660Ti, 580, 570, 560Ti, 560 SE, 560, 550Ti, 480, 470, 465, 460 SE, 460, GTS 450

Edit: but of course it does not include the OP's card..

I've been actually considering this cooler to tame my GTX 480 more than my Zalman VF3000F is doing (which isn't bad, just not great). Reviews look pretty good (http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/4850/arctic_accelero_hybrid_aio_video_card_cooler_revie w/index.html), however the price is a little steep IMO for what you are getting (basically a H70 + reference air cooling for VRM). I've considered doing "The Mod", but I've never liked the idea of using zip-ties to mount a cooler and my case is pretty much packed with the TT Water2.0 Pro and VF3000F.

BTW why does the Accelero Hybrid not fit the 7970? They made a specific model just for the 7970 and I found that kind of odd considering the large amount of compatible cards including the 7870 which is identical to the 7970 hardware wise: http://www.guru3d.com/news_story/arctic_accelero_hybrid_7970_liquid_cooling_system_ review.html

yo led whats up

what ever works i think is best for a 2xx card at this point tbh.

As for the 7980 edtion.... see led the 797o has a recessed core so they need a bump on the block, its the bump spacer or you take off or file down the core guard

Ohhh I gotcha, I always wondered why they needed a separate one from the 7870 since hardware is identical; I didn't know they changed anything physically.

Cowie check your PM.
