View Full Version : Which "book" mini-ITX chassis for AMD Trinity?

I plan to buy a FM2 itx board and an AMD Trinity as replacement for my old HTPC.
The problem is that there are not many itx chassis there meeting the specs I need:

1. As AMD Trinity uses 100W TDP, I would need almost a 150W(200W optimal) power source. I would prefer an external PSU to avoid heat inside the chassis.
2. I lack space, so the chassis should be "book" style or very small ( like 25x20x10cm max ). It should be as small as a MacMini if possible.
3. I don't need an internal DVD bay... I use an external USB 3.0 Bluray ( which I can reuse for new Macs! ).
4. I don't need a GPU slot... because I'm gonna use the APU's GPU anyways.
5. The chassis should have a frontal USB 3.0 connector in order to transfer Bluray's MKV files from my super-fast pendrive ( USB 2.0 can take hours to transfer a 50Gb file! ) and also to plug there my external USB3 bluray rewritter.
6. The chassis should allow to install a decent low-profile CPU fan cooler ... because 100W == a lot of heat.
7. I just need a 2.5'' HDD/SSD bay.

I found this good case:

but, sadly, only supports USB 2.0, I really don't need the DVD bay and it's too big.

The Antek ISK100 is interesting ...

but it lacks USB 3.0 and the PSU delivers only 90W.

The Lian-Li PC-Q12 tower is too big for me and I don't like its ventilation design.

Any suggestion, pls? I really cannot understand why chassis makers still have no decent book-style chassis prepared for Trinity omg ... I only find cases with obsolete USB2 and weak PSUs !
