So... EIZO sent me their 4K monitor and I got it on Friday. Here's the unboxing article (I hate unboxings, but I thought that this was a valid exception considering the awesomeness of the product).

http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2012/5/25/eizo-4k-display-unboxing.aspx

Also, this monitor, for those unaware with it, is the FDH3601 which is a 36.4" monitor with a resolution of 4096 x 2160 and a refresh rate of 60Hz. Furthermore, it sells for a cool $30K. :D

I think this is Xtreme enough to be posted here. :yepp:

Currently I only have an HD7970 and a GTX 680. NVIDIA has yet to send me my GTX 690, they're in very short supply and everyone who has 4GB 680's hasn't necessarily been forthcoming with samples.

I think I'm going to record a video of BF3 in 4K.

You must be sitting like 2 meters away from the monitor if you wanna see the whole picture :D

Actually no, I'm only sitting about 2ft away. Because of that, it really feels like you're IN the game. And because the pixels are so fine, you have no issue with being 'too close'

In order to get smooth gameplay on the nvidia GTX 680 at 4K I needed to OC my 680 to 1.3GHz GPU and 3100MHz on RAM. Tomorrow will be HD 7970

Trying to upload video, 4GB... It looks like it's going to take 3 hours to upload at 20mbps :/

Now that's friggen cool. :) That's exactly what I'm looking for here. Where to sell my kidneys?

How's the colour accuracy on the unit, do you have any calibration utilities (spyder, ione; argyll; whatever?) Curious to see how much of the Adobe 1998 spec it can render.

I WISH! Our color calibration unit is currently in Croatia :( I can't check out the color accuracy unfortunately, but from what I've seen so far... it's pretty impressive.

Yeah, I don't think this will. There are some promising displays out there or about to come out, like that Sharp 3860x2160 resolution 13.6" display.

I'm not going to hold my breath on that one. Saw the same announcement but I've seen a lot of similar ones over the past decade to no real avail. If anything it may be a laptop/tablet display but probably not a stand-alone monitor, which sucks as I'd buy several assuming they have a good colour gamut & delta-E.

There really seems to be nothing at such a high res between 42" and 15" it's either one way or the other.

@Russian- Thanks for that! there's not many reviews for high resolution displays. I would be interested to see how the minimum/average frame rates increase in crossfire/sli on that size of a monitor if you're able to do that. From what I can see it appears that I may want to wait for the GK110 series card before any purchases (looking at 12MP 3x30" displays for here).

I am blue with envy ;-) I hope you will enjoy it

Thanks for the great information. Do you have a GTX690 you could throw in the mix? I'd love to see the numbers from that pairing...;)
