Hi mates,

I'm planning a low profile build, and I already have a Swiftech MCW80 GPU waterblock, I want to use it as a low profile CPU block, but the plate does not fit.

I have brought this from a friend, and he was using it with a 1366 plattaform as a CPU cooler, but I have modded the plates to fit my HD5850, and now I want to use it on the CPU again.
My friend told me that he brought the "adapter" to 1366 in ebay, but I not able to find anything, but I know it does exists, so... Where do I find this?

Maybe gabe o sthepen can help me with this.

Cheers,

Bruno-

i use the "apogee low profile" also known as LP, that can be found at a few places for 50-60$ and works very well.

if you have about 3" of room above the cpu then you can use a 90 degree adapter on almost any block, but the LP is good for less than 2" of room. its so low that you will hit the back panel or ram before you hit the water block.

i also have pictures of my build if you want a visual.

I could use the pictures, i did not understand you fully, so please post them if you can!

Stephen: That what I need, and there is some kind of backplate for the motherboard too? Or I should use only the right screws?

Cheers,

yes this one includes the back plate. You could give Michelle a call as I believe we also sell the thumb screws separately but for some reason I can't find them on the online store.

stephen: i wonder if there are plans on releasing similar modification for HD or overall demand for it wasn't hight enough to justify?

there just wasn't any demand for this so far.
