New arrivals in the morning....

R9700Pro
IT7 Max2
Innovatek chipset waterblock
Black Ice micro radiator
Swiffy MCW40

20k should be easy (already cracked 19400 with my ti4600)
18k default is the big target. 16k is under the bridge now (by 3 points :D ) with the Ti4600 so I need a 2k improvement. Needless to say though im hoping for more.

Expect a post tomorrow night with results and a (hopefully) big jump up the orb.

Aiming to top off Kamu.....wish me luck. Xtreme back to the top gets my vote!

Teamates...give 'em hell and keep on the move:)

And OPP...damn my man...congrats to you on those massive ass kicker scores:toast: The Overclocking Guru has spoken on the ORB:D

This month will be a good month indeed. I have another cpu arriving tomorrow that I hope will give me what I need until the end of the month;)

I'll have my hands on a 9700 Pro sometime this week also..and here's to hoping that NVidia can stabilize the 40.41's for us all..and particularly AMD systems....so I can blow a good Ti4600 bench.

And finally..I apologize for being quite testy and impatient while trying to bench these suckers this past weekend...I have some personal family illness going on right now and my frame of mind has not been the best. Thank you all for understanding.

Wow all kinds of excitement around these days:D
I'll be picking up a 2.8g P4 myself tomorrow, this ought to be good:D
Big problem though, all I have is a GeForce 3 card now:(
O'well, I'll have the power so all I'll need is the card.

Accepting donations:D

Why not pull the old loan trick at Fry's? You know I'd help ya in a sec OPP with everything you've done for me but all I have myself is a weak little Ti4200 :).

I'd borrow you my Ti4600 while I am on my honeymoon, as long as you return it with a nice volt mod! :) Good luck to you all on your benches...I am still trying to break a measly 14k :(

Quick update - the IT7 MAX2 is a dog. DO NOT TOUCH this board. My old IT7 I was able to bench at 181/242 fsb/mem. Thats with nothing special mod wise to the board, just a lapped and as2'd northbridge. That is with cas 2/3/7/3/enhance on mem settings.

IT72 - couldnt even boot past 165mhz/220mhz. Removed the northbridge heatsink and replaced with an innovatek GF4 block. Am now able to bench at 175ish mhz (172 100% stable). Cas 2.5/3/7/3/enhance off. The board will not even boot with enhance on past 210mhz mem speed. Ended up corrupting my raid array totally. I think im going to be trying to RMA this and just get an IT7.

Am off to reinstall AGAIN now.

Bleh.....

Arent the IT7-max2 and AT7 max2 manufctured by ECS already? That could have something to do with it... when I first looked at the pics of the IT7 max2 something seemed wrong... dunno what... looked kinda like an expensive ECS board, and overclocking wise it seems that's what it is

Yup thats what I thought too.

Anyway, bit more info....

It undervolts like a whore - approx 3% lower voltages all round when compared to the IT7.
Unstable at any ddr voltage except 2.5v (which is actually 2.47)
Northy heatsink makes very poor contact.
AGP slot is about 1mm too close to the board edge making putting gfx cards in very worrying.
PCI slot 2 doesnt work. Period.
Wont post above 160mhz with enhance ddr on.
Wont post over 125mhz with cas 2 selected.
Wont post over 175mhz regardless of what I do with memory @ 3:4
CPU is less stable - its around 34mhz down at any given voltage compared to the IT7.
Memory is MUCH less stable. Im around 15mhz lower stable overclock on memory compared to the IT7.

Im going to give it a couple of days to bed in and see what happens. If theres no improvement its going back im afraid. What a pile of tosh.

I'f RMA for another max2, and see if it was just a lemon, then if it still eats it, then back to max1
