Well someone has been sleeping at the job. I purchased two new PMP-450S and needed to break them down for an install to a RP-452X2. One pump collar came off fine (as it should when you turn it counter-clockwise). The other pump collar I nearly had to break out the Dremel to cut it off. In the end a screwdriver and mallet sufficed. What I found when I opened this pump shocked me. There was NO rubber o-ring anywhere to be found. This would explain why I could not get the collar off... I imagine it was tightened beyond normal due to the missing o-ring.

I swear... QC is a thing of the part. Has anyone else ever ran into this issue?

That can be QC miss of Laing itself as well, as Koolance only buy them in big batches and resells them.

Yea, they don't really even try to hide it. The Koolance sticker doesn't completely hide the Liang sticker. :)

Yeah, and Laing seems to have changed hands not too long ago. The once Laing Thermotech website I used to reference is now gone. Replaced by:
http://completewatersystems.com/brands/laing-thermotech/

Looks like a company of:
http://www.xyleminc.com/en-us/Pages/default.aspx

Now..?

Yeah, I would rant at Laing for the missing o-ring.
