View Full Version : Multiple scores on the ORB

I have noticed that with the arrival of the new Dets and the ATI9700, many of our Team members are making huge advances on the ORB. To them I send my congratulations. We've all worked hard and waited a long time for this moment.:toast: :toast:

As your Team caddy, I am duty bound to remind you of the professional courtesy to not post multiple scores on the ORB, so as to give as many people as possible a chance to get to the first page.

Thank you all.

I think you should make the point clearer to Fugger as he's now trying to post as many scores as possible to push people OFF the frontpage :slash:

Hehe, I'm sure he'll pull them off. He's probably just busy benching or something.

Why don't you just use the "Show one project per user"....

It's kinda easier for everyone, lol.

I sent an e-mail to a person and asked him in the nicest way to remove the 11 scores he had in my category (1800-1900MHz AXP). Why do people just leave all of there scores up? It doesn't leave room for anyone else.

I often send emails to those who leave multiple scores on the ORB for extended periods. Normally it starts with an email that tries to be as nice as possible. If the person does nothing and does not repond after some time(usually 24-48 hours) I send another email telling him that if the offending entries are not removed within 24 hours, I would post as many scores as necessary ahead of his to bump him off the first page. So far this approach has worked every time.:D

In one instance I actually had to try hard to produce a score high enough to bump off someone(I don't want to mention the name, but suffice it to say that he is not so well liked here).;)

But in all fairness, most offenders just forget to remove scores in the midst of the excitement of achieving good results.

I try to be very polite and first congratulate them on their score and ask nicely for them to remove all but their highest score. I wish I could bump him, but I am some points behind...around a hundred. It would bring me into 3rd place in my CPU range if he removed all but his highest, which would be nice. My Win2k disk went bad and had to use WinXP. I think if I can get Win2k again, I may be able to push him behind me. :)

Get that Win2k working and teach the guy a lesson he won't forget.:D

Are all my posts invisible on this forum.........:D

There's a reason for the "Show only one project per user" selection. smileysex

Yes your message was loud and clear.

But to do what you suggest is like asking all non-smokers to wear gas masks because someone is smoking in a no-smoking zone.:D

Members of Team Xtreme do our best to observe a gentleman's code of conduct on the ORB which we also encourage others to follow.

***has or is **** anyone sending e-mails to other people with multiple scores ... one that springs to mind is kamu ... i know he deleted one of his others when he had 2 posted b4

DDTUNG

As far as I can see Kamu and a guy named spy have multiple scores on the first page. Since they are not our members, I would wait a day or so before sending them emails. That'll give time for our own FUGGER to realize and rectify the situation.:D

Heh, I check for gains comparing when I was benching I usually keep 1 older to save me time in having to republish it every time.

I do not have the reg version.

I just e-mailed Kamu, he's a good guy, last time I asked him to remove a score he did it no problems, we'll see.
