My two comps are right across from each other in the same room. Is it possible to let both pcs use the same printer and both be able to connect to my verizon dsl connection at the same time? thanks for any help

Yes with internect connection sharing, assuming your using win ME or better.

3 network cards total are needed.. and a few 1 Xover cable. one network card in each, plus a 2nd in you "Server" which has to be on all the time for the other to get internet.

It would probably easier to search for a cheap Cable DSL router though. I've found them for $20 searching in the past.

Once your comps can see each other, it's a simple matter to share your printer from the comp it's connected.

Why not make one, a old box and Freesco on a floppy.

TDF.

Nah, an old box and Coyote Linux, or a bigger old box and ClarkConnect :)

Only reason I say it, is that Freesco uses Cisco-like router commands that can be discouraging to a beginning user. Freesco rocks otherwise!

I'm running clarkconnect, and I'm very satisfied :)

I'm making a firewall at school, also with CC :)
