I've replaced many laptop lcd's over the years but to make it as easy and smooth as possible, I've always used the exact same model number of the OEM lcd. But now I need to replace a cracked lcd for my Toshiba l305-s5899 and I'm trying to get the cheapest lcd possible. And in order to do that, I've been looking at lcd's with slightly different model #'s

The model # of the original lcd is: LP154WX4 (TL) (C8)

Does anyone know what the last 2 characters of the model number mean (C8)? There are many lcd's with the exact same number except the (C8) is sometimes (C1),(C2),...up to (C9). I've been trying to figure out what the last 2 digits refer to.

Do you think any of the LP154WX4 TL C(?) lcd's will work properly as long as its the same size, resolution and backlight?

I would really appreciate some help on this issue if anyone has the knowledge.

Thanks

Seems like a logical thing to do.
I will definitely give it a shot.
