quick photoshop help

Im trying to extract the white text I've bordered off using a color range select but I just cant seem to extract the "obvious" white portion of the text without getting crap from the background. I want to extract that part and modify blending options but the garbage becomes obvious.

I'm not good with photoshop, but if anyone can do this or tell me the easiest way of going about it I'd appreciate it.

this is a transparent png. needs a little bit of pixel editing to remove some black spots.
used magic eraser tool.

created a layer FX > posterize > around 84 (helps remove some of the jpg artifacts)
created a second layer FX > threshold > ~134

result should be a black and white version of it, without much noise left.

use color range to sample the white as you done before

with the selection active, select the original layer and press crtl+J to copy the content to a new layer (hide the layer fx when done with selection)

on the new layer, do crtl + shift + U to desaturate (removes the left over blue tint)

Hoax, you're a genius. Thank you! I'm amazed at how that even works..

Thanks BertM! I see what you did there.. I was looking for the white text itself but I like how you removed it. Was that using Content-Aware fill?

yes select area and press delete and fill content aware and a big healing brush afterwards if needed.
you need to delete a few time to make it work.

i tried again today with magic eraser tool set to 100 and then the white text keeps its anti aliased edges.
