Hello

I need a reservoir to my loop. I did not like the XSPC Bay reservoir. Because it took up too much space in the bay area.
I think I want to go with a cylinder reservoir. Preferably from EK or Bitspower.

Relevant specifications for this thread:
Case: Corsair 800D
Radiator: XSPC RX360 (Triple 120) [Radiator is mounted in the roof of the case]
Fans: Scythe GT 1850s in push (bottom of radiator)
MB: eVGA e760 Classified X58 3x-SLI + EK Full cover water block copper.
GPU: 5870 1GB Reference model + EK Full cover water block copper.
CPU: I7 920 + swiftech Apogee GTZ water block copper.
Pumps: 2 Laing D5 variable + Dual EK top single loop.
Tubing: Tygon clear 3630. (19/13)
Fittings: Bitspower black acetal.

I was thinking maybe an EK 400 or 250 X2 Advanced. What do you think?

Tube res' are nice because they are easy to fill and bleed. Mounting one inside the 800D is easy, just mount it in between the MB tray and HD rack, that's where mine is.

Do you happen to know what size I can have my cylinder at? Would 400 be too big you think? :P

Thats huge, and the size of the res really matters little. I have found 100mm was too short. Lots of turbulence. All depends what you want. It's doen't make the rig cooler or better once bled.

I think mine is a 100 or 150. 250 is too big for sure. Just measure it and see which will fit. I did have to drill a hole for one of the clamps, but I think on a 200 you would be able to use the existing holes in the case, but better measure to be sure.

I had the 250 EK X2 in my 800D. Was hard to fill, but doable. Mine leaked, so I went to koolance bay reservoir. Found it almost impossible to bleed with a large loop.

The Koolance is definitely not a fun thing to bleed. I had to wrestle around my huge SR-2 / Crossfire rig around on its sides and back for hours after hours of trying to bleed it. Then I found a leak and had to do the whole thing over again.

But its flexability makes it the reservoir I go w/ for almost every build I do lately.

But it's so expensive haha.
I like the bitspower far above the EK res' but find yourself an iandh res if you can, they're amazing

So the 400 will definetly not fit? :D

I've recently had a problem with the swiftech micro res v2, coupled with swiftech green hydrx, my reservoir got some corrosion or something like that, and showing the pics to gabe (swiftech ceo), he couldn't tell me what was the problem. So, as swiftech or frozencpu didn't replace my reservoir (I live far away from USA), I went to buy a cilinder shaped phobya balancer reservoir http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyAve-9BZWk&feature=player_embedded].
It's really nice, the top and bottom are from a gray metal, good quality, 150mm tall (there's another of 250mm, but for me it's to big).
Maybe you get to like it.
Best regards.

Ek, danger den, phobya, tube reservoirs are all good.

Bits power over priced cack ... Just because you coat a bad car is fancy paint doesn't make it a better car. Its still the same cack car just with fancy paint......

Will a 400 fit in a 800D with an RX360+fans in the roof?

You might make it work with some modding, but you will use up other space. The 400 advanced is 16" long.

Would it be wiser to get a 250?

for my build and i luv them i got the 250mm but they come in 160, 250 and 400mm..

And if you got to there site you can create custom colors and add side ports.

The Koolance 70mm ID tube reservoirs are by far my favourite. But they are huge.
