I have a 4850x2 and its too hot. I run MW@H on it which keeps it 100% on both cores and currently i have 2 VF900s on it and it hits 64C. The thing will BSOD at 80C. The vf900 will get clogged with dust very easily and makes it completely ineffective.

I am trying to find a simple easy water or liquid solution that will keep the card cool under load and wont suffer from neglected cleaning.

Would it be possible to put like a corsair H50 on the GPU cores? will that work?

I saw thermaltakes vga tideforce liquid cooler but its EOL now and cant find it.

Or what would be an easy cheap way to make a decent GPU liquid cooler?

To just get blocks to cool that card will cost about $100, pump $50++, rad $50, plus other stuff like reses and tubining and fittings. Easily close to $300.

Sorry about the dust, get some filters is all I can say.

2 Swiftech MCW60 GPU Blocks, old design, but might pick up two pretty cheap.

Ive read other xtremesystem guys destroyed their 4850x2 while trying to get that full cover cooler to work.

what about:

2 x http://www.koolance.com/water-cooling/product_info.php?product_id=87
or
2 x http://www.koolance.com/water-cooling/product_info.php?product_id=1059

res and pump
http://www.koolance.com/water-cooling/product_info.php?product_id=800

rad
http://www.koolance.com/water-cooling/product_info.php?product_id=810

this is my first water cooling so not quite sure. Koolance is just down the highway from where im at.
Could then hook up CPU cooler too maybe

I wouldn't buy those old easy to crack GPU blocks. Thats from the hated early days from Koolance.

Never seen the 210's used. Thats usually a bad sign...............

That pump setup is wayyy over priced. And thier old crap stuff is inside the assembly. A pump for your setup could be a D5 basic, or a DDC3.2 or a Jingway even (not that good of quality).

You should have a 120x2 sized rad. And if you add a CPU later, you need more rad. So go a 120x4 in rad size for the future. Learn about heatloads and the magic number called DT.

Honestly, if your new to watercooling you need some primers, guides, and links to learn about the basics FIRST.

It is possible to put the H50/H70 on the GPU's, you just need an adapter. There was a guy making them:

http://www.overclock.net/cooling-products/1086033-asetek-cooler-corsair-h50-h70-antec.html

You would then use the stock heat plate for the memory and VRM's.

a bunch of the links are dead. a lot of the externals to stores and things other people have done. like the water cooling rig based on case thread :3

Yea, try to find the block you want then. Seems you have it under control. If the FC block can't be found and you don't want to go the route with two MCW 60's used cheap, AND you have access to the classies, then get a newer card.

Think about it. Watercooling will cost you $xxx. Use the card till it breaks, then get someting newer, and a great air cooler on it.

Back to the dust issue. Get a cheapo pancake air compressor, do the maintenance required.
