ok so i have been using bitcoins.lc its smaller than btcguild but not too small. why do my estimated rewards change so rapidly downward; and if i stop mining for a couple of hours my Account balance (what i can collect that moment) keeps going down as well? if i do not mine for about 5 hours i am left with almost nothing to collect (unless i hit payout as soon as i can)? does this site have some sort of weird measurement scheme?

thanks.

Like quite a few pools they were hit hard by pool hopping which it seems is the practice of moving from pool to pool but only ever mining for the first few hours of a new block. the advantage of doing this is that payments are generally quite a lot higher but at the expense of those who see the block to the end.

whether you see this as an opportunity or not is a personal choice but quite a few pools now use a method of payment other than proportional to in effect stop this practice and make it fairer on those that stick with it. The methods vary but most will punish the guy that stops before the end of a block. Maybe their method is like this.

There are some issues there too I think https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=10121.980

ugh great so i am penalized for having to stop mining for a few hours. thanks, i guess i must search for a new pool because to me it does not seem fair.

any suggestions? is btc guild also like this? its just that today it showed me balance as 0.3 (1x 6950, 1x 6970, 1x 5870)...and i thought wow yay, i didn't payout right away, i left it for a few hours, then when i came back it was .01.....way too messed up for me.

What ever balance is in your "Account Balance" should be your confirmed balance after a block is found that you helped in. This balance should not change unless you withdraw from it. Your "Estimated earnings" will constantly change until the block that pool is currently working on is found.

If it is your "Account Balance" that is changing you might want to contact the person who runs the pool about your problem.

Edit - I have not used this pool in a while and was un aware of the problem that oldchap posted. That maybe your problem also but still your "Account Balance" should not change unless you click "Instant Payout".

Tell you what looking for the best pool... So far I think is Bitclockers pool. That is who I am using now and the pool is small enough to get larger payments but fast enough to at least find 1 block per day or up to 3 blocks per day. With 1.4gh/s of power I am pulling in roughly 0.3-0.4 per block. I just wish I started using this pool before the huge price drop.

Someone is working on getting a XS pool going. It takes a bit to get it up and running so hopefully he has not giving up.

I'm averaging around 0.47 BTC per day per Ghash in a small pool (typically 50ish Ghash)

How about you guys?

I'm pulling .55-.75 btc a day from bitcoins.lc with a fulltime 800MH/s and a 20/7 466MH/s, not bad I would say. I figured out they were delaying stats a few days after I started there. Also how can you pass up 0% fee and accept rates like this?

62932 shares accepted, 150 stale/invalid.

yeah well they keep screwing with my account balance, and their support center has not returned my email, so i will be looking for greener pastures.

I don't get how your account balance is being messed with, mine has never gone down unless I did a payout. Are you looking at estimated? That will always change and is in no way related to payouts to you. You can see a list of payouts on the stats page.
